I'm so surprised that there are so few people commenting on Staple's music. It's awesome stuff... Anyway, Staple's lead singer said that this song was written for the guitarist and the rest of the band. It's about being away on tour from their families, their wives in particular, I think.
"I wrote this in honor of our guitarist and all the musicians who are married or are trying their hardest to maintain a relationship while being on the road. I think it can be a testament to greater love, rather than less, that they are willing to live this life. They’re fighting through it. This suggests that they love each other dearly because they haven’t given up and are willing to make one of the most demanding schedules work in their lives." - Darin Keim (Staple)
