Hey You, I Love Your Soul Lyrics
Am I a man who knows how to love
When you hate what you fear the most
I'll wash your feet as you spit in my face
Hey you, I love your soul
I'm going love you when you hate
You can't outrun or escape this liquid
My life poured out like water
I'm gonna drown you with maddening forgiveness
Hey you, I love your soul
I can't depend on your hate to define my love
Am I strong enough to love your soul
Love doesn't care to receive what it gives
Bleeding compassion to extreme
Love stretches out to die for its enemies
Hey you, I love your soul
I can't depend on your hate to define my love
Am I strong enough to love your soul
No bounds on the deep, no bounds on the wide
Am I deep enough to love your soul
God I want to swim in the deep of You
God in You I'm strong enough,
Strong enough, strong enough
I can't depend on your hate to define my love
Am I strong enough to love your soul
No bounds on the deep, no bounds on the wide
Am I deep enough to love your soul
When you hate what you fear the most
I'll wash your feet as you spit in my face
I'm going love you when you hate
My life poured out like water
I'm gonna drown you with maddening forgiveness
Hey you, I love your soul
Am I strong enough to love your soul
Bleeding compassion to extreme
Love stretches out to die for its enemies
Hey you, I love your soul
Am I strong enough to love your soul
No bounds on the deep, no bounds on the wide
God I want to swim in the deep of You
God in You I'm strong enough,
Strong enough, strong enough
Am I strong enough to love your soul
No bounds on the deep, no bounds on the wide
Am I deep enough to love your soul

i feel bad that no ones commented....this song helped me a lot. its about drowning your enemies in love even when theyre ridiculous to you. its about that verse "and in doing so will heap burning coals on your enemies heads" its also asking God for help to do this cuz we are so not strong enough
John Cooper: "Hey You, I Love Your Soul, we're singing to people. That came from [when] my pastor was talking, he was saying that he wondered if we're becoming more like Jesus, can we love people's souls the way that God cares for their souls? The idea went into, you know, you can hate me and you can hate everything that I say but I'm gonna love you instead, which is what the gospel's all about. Jesus loved people that hated Him, which will always be one of the biggest issues in life."
