Souvenirs Lyrics
Souvenirs
Last winter you came home
From an island of fire and stone
With fire to relight the life you lost
And stones to weigh out the heavy cost
And the damage
You put my hand to your heart
And ran right hrough your history
The souvenirs and lost luggage
The shipwrecks and the mysteries
And with your warm chest against my back
Whispered words and this growing crack
My sweet companion, you knew my name
You lit a candle and a moth came through the window
I put your hand to my heart
And ran right through my history
The souvenirs and lost luggage
The shipwrecks and the mysteries
"Your lips speak a joy
But your eyes tell a sorrow"
How dare you say that to me?
When you know, you know you'll be leaving tomorrow.
I keep these moments as souvenirs
You read my story

aslfalskhfdlaksjdhfl!! is all i have to report.
captain captain it feels like we're going down the wrong way up, or up the wrong way up, captain! man overboard.
This song is so beautiful.
I have some corrections: 2nd verse: You put your heart to my hand / And ran right through my history 3rd verse: ...a moth came in through the window 4th verse: I put my hand to your heart / And ran right through your history 6th verse: You don't know me and you will never know.
... and yes, this is a very beautiful song
I don't understand this song too much. But its definately a love song. Just to feel someone on your skin can take your breath away but is all it is physical?
"Your lips speak joy. But your eyes tell a sorrow" is not really telling each other what you mean. For the moment not eachother
"You don't know and you will never know." Can you ever really completely give yourself to a person?
Aww, and there's a live version where instead of "How dare you say that to me?/You don't know..." he says "When you know that I'll be leaving tomorrow"
I'm pretty sure he says:
"How dare you say that to me / When you know / When you know you'll be leaving tomorrow"
I've loved Patrick for several years now, and this song is by far one of the most gorgeous pieces by him I've ever heard. His voice has got this breathy texture that I can't quite explain-- it lets on something surreal, you know? It's a simple, true, heart-felt song that he sings with an undertone of passion. It's not put out there right away, but it's something felt rather than heard only in the slightest. I live in New York, and unfortunately never got a chance to see him when he promoted any of his albums. I'm waiting for his next one, though.. or perhaps I'll get to London soon after I graduate high school. I hope I do. I need to see this boy.
