Fall At Your Feet (Crowded House cover) Lyrics

I'm really close tonight
I feel like I'm moving inside her
I'm lying in the dark
I think that I'm beginning to know her
Let it go
I'll be there when you call
Whenever I fall at your feet
And you let your tears rain down on me
Whenever I touch your slow turning pain

You're hiding from me now
There's something in the way that you're talking
The words don't sound right
But I hear them all moving inside you
Go, I'll be waiting when you call

Whenever I fall at your feet
And you let your tears rain down on me
Whenever I touch your slow turning pain

The finger of blame has turned upon itself
And I'm more than willing to offer myself
Do you want my presence or need my help
Who knows where that might lead

I fall at your feet
And you let your tears rain down on me
Whenever I fall

I think james blunt did a great job covering this song. It's soooooo passionate and, again, was perfect for the scene where it was played at the end of the OC where johnny falls off the cliff [even though it was used 3 times in that episode].

this song is AMAZING! by far my favorite on the album..i listen to it ever and ever at least twice a day... to me this song is about someone who was deeply in love but did something wrong, something that hurt the other person badly and is now trying to make up for it, hence the line whenever i fall at your feet do let your tears rain down on me." as for the line whenever i touch your slow turning pain it could mean that slowly she is beginnig to forgive him.. and as for the finger of blame has turned upon it's self and im more than willing to offer myself, do you want my presence or need my help who knows where that mite lead." it seems that he is almost begging to help her...im not too sure waht the blame part is but if anyone gets an idea would you plz let me know thanks:)

I saw this on the OC as well. I liked the cover, but found it cheesy in the way it was used. Fall at your feet= Johnny falling off a cliff? A little too literal.

yes that was a sad episode:( but this song is awsome and i agree with mmkq_28. this song is a bit to literal

haha, they could of used the song, so long jimmy. with a slight alteration of the name.

but no i love this song, and it's been covered great by blunty, though i have only heard the live version, the version on the oc sounded a bit lackluster if you ask me. could of been how it was edited.

still curious as to the song meaning. i'm not quite sure who is hurting? who hurt who? who the blame is being pointed at?but ehh regardless, great song.

Wow - I knew there was a reason that I liked James Blundt. His singing and songs remind me of the Finns (who wrote this song).

You've got the words slightly wrong btw. They're:

I'm really close tonight I feel like I'm moving inside her I'm lying in the dark I think that I'm beginning to know her Let it go I'll be there when you call Whenever I fall at your feet And you let your tears rain down on me Whenever I touch your slow turning pain

It's a beautiful song, I'm not sure what it means, but I'm sure they do on here at the site for Neil Finn's lyrics goes to check.
