You Make Me Smile Lyrics
Some kind of light
at the end
I'm touching
the edge of her skin
Once so hard to speak
Now so easy to play around
Catching your eye you know
That eye that slapped you in your face
and called you a puppy
Well how do you say
I was hypnotized
Hypnotized
My words, they pour
Like children to the playground
Children to the playground
You make me smile
There's some kind of light at the end
Stoned, forgetful, and then
I'm drinking what used to be sin
And touching the edge of her skin
And could you be the one that's not afraid
To look me in the eyes
I swear I would collapse
If I would tell how I think you fell
From the sky
Yeah my words, they pour
Like children to the playground
Children to the playground
You make me smile
There's some kind of light at the end
Stoned, forgetful, and then
I'm drinking what used to be sin
And touching the edge of her skin
There's some kind of light at the end
Stoned, forgetful, and then
I'm drinking what used to be sin
And touching the edge of her skin
It's the feeling I get
My palms with sweat
Like some kind of daydream
I'll never forget
I'm stuck in this spin
Why does it begin
By touching the edge of her skin
There's some kind of light at the end
Stoned, forgetful, and then
I'm drinking what used to be sin
And touching the edge of her skin
There's some kind of light at the end
Stoned, forgetful, and then
I'm drinking what used to be sin
And touching the edge of her skin
at the end

no love yet? i love it. pretty self explainatory song.
Yeah, love this song. Awesome band.
hey spectracide...you say its self explanatory so why dont you explain it? Bet you can't
I could be totally off here, but this is what this song means to me:
The thought of a girl makes him extremely excited. Either him and here were once in a relationship or he wanted to be in a relationship with her. But either way it was hard for him to express how he felt, all he knew is that it was unexplainable. He says I swear I would collapse If I would tell how I think you fell From the sky. He is to nervous to tell her he thinks she is an angel.
He caught her eye and she caught his and they feel into puppy love and were hypnotized.
The only way he can explain how he feels is that he feels as excited as a child going to a playground. He is stuck in this playground reliving every moment they shared or every moment he wants to share with her. Then every once in a while he tries to escape this "dream". That is what he means by -- There's some kind of light at the end Stoned, forgetful-every once in a while he gets to the point where he can forget, but something reminds him of her-and then he's drinking what used to be sin and touching the edge of her skin-he is savoring what felt would feel too good, but it is wrong, she may be in some other relationship, but all he wants to do is remember touching her or to do it in the first place.
He says he is stuck in this spin, meaning he is stuck in these thoughts and they are never ending.
What do you think?
I agree 100% ;D <3

I don't know why this really isn't the "Hate Me" of the album.. Seems like such an awesome song, also reminds me of a cross between Walking After You and Everlong, both by Foo Fighters. Defintly in the top 3 of the album

Sounds like someone so happy to be in love and finally be able to be with the one he has loved for some time, but couldn't be with before "I'm drinking what used to be sin And touching the edge of her skin"
haha it makes me smile =]

I think this song is just his being happy to be around her by the line "there's kind of light at the end when touching the edge of her skin" and he can mean a simple brush between arms. This song tells about the stages of a relationship "at first so hard to speak now so easy to play around" I am sure most of us are completely shy around someone we like but soon enough it gets easier to talk and mess around with them. "my words the pour like children to the play ground you make me smile" this is self explanitory his words are getting easier to say and they pour out quickly. Really this song is just about something forbiden, something that he longs for, but knows more then likely he wont have it.
