You say you gotta take off
Meet the one you're meant to meet
You say you have to move on
And you can't do that with me

I say that you might regret
That you don't know what it means
I say that you won't forget
What we had so easily

Prechorus:
Once you make the wrong move
We can't be right again
Once you say that, we're through
We're through, that's the end

Chorus:
What if it's me
The one in your life
What if we lose forever just to realize
What if it's me
And you can't turn the time back 'round again
Cause once you're gone you're out
And that's the end

You think you know what's missing
That you don't find it in me
I think your mind is guessing
When you're supposed to believe

Prechorus
Chorus

I don't know what you're gonna need
If I wanna get you to stay
I don't know how it's gonna be
But I know that it's safe to say
If I was just once in your life
I could always be one more time
Yeah you just might, wanna think twice
Cause once you're out
You're out and that's the end

Chorus (2x)

That's the end
Turn the time back 'round again
Cause once you're gone
You're out and that's the end

Standing On The Edge Of Summer
Thursday
In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.
