Cry, Cry, Cry Lyrics
Everybody knows where you go when the sun goes down
I think you only live to see the lights of town
I wasted my time when I would try try try
Cause when the lights have lost their glow you’ll cry cry cry
Soon your sugar daddies will all be gone
you’ll wake up some cold day and find you’re alone
You’ll call for me but I’m gonna tell you bye bye bye
When I turn around and walk away you’ll cry cry cry
You're gonna cry cry cry and you’ll cry alone
When everyone’s forgotten and you’re left on you're own
You're gonna cry cry cry
I lie awake at night and wait til you come in
You’ll stay a little while and then you're gone again
Every question that I ask I get a lie lie lie
For every lie you tell you’re gonna cry cry cry
When you’re fickle love gets old no one will care for you
And you’ll come back to me for a little love thats true
I'll tell you no and then you’ll ask me why why why
When I remind you of all of this you’ll cry cry cry
You're gonna cry cry cry and you’ll want me then
It'll hurt when you think of the fool you've been
You're gonna cry cry cry
I think you only live to see the lights of town
I wasted my time when I would try try try
Cause when the lights have lost their glow you’ll cry cry cry
you’ll wake up some cold day and find you’re alone
You’ll call for me but I’m gonna tell you bye bye bye
When I turn around and walk away you’ll cry cry cry
When everyone’s forgotten and you’re left on you're own

how come there isnt any comments on this song? itsss soo awesome its pretty obvious what its about so no need to explain
Isn't this song about how he feels he looks in his first wife's, Vivian, eyes? She was stuck at home raising the kids while he was living the good life out on the road. I love this song, one of my top five Cash tunes.
I like this song a lot as well. It's my favorite Johnny Cash song currently.
cheating whores die alone. After their looks and the "goods" they have to offer are gone, the stupid men who follow them loose interest. The girl goes back to the good bloke(johhny cash, a model bf/husband in his younger days of course...lol) and he tells to go.
It does seem to be pretty obvious what it means, although saying this song is how his first wife looks at him goes right along with how Walk The Line (movie) portrayed their marriage.
it was about his first wife I am pretty sure.

@decomposingb4you The song was about his first wife, as was the song "I Walk The Line". The movie "Walk The Line" with Joaquin and Reese is so inaccurate. I don't have the time or patience to spell it out for you, just Google "walk the line inaccuracies". One thing I will point out right now is that Vivian was actually very patient with Johnny and even went on tour with him. June pursued Johnny, not vice-versa, and Johnny stayed away (as well he should've), until he got on drugs. Vivian blamed the drugs for everything,...

is it just me or do the first 3 notes of this song sound exactly the same as "I walk the line"?
@dman140 They are, but that's hardly relevant. Johnny used that sort of pattern in alot of his songs.

Very similar but not the same, it's Luther Perkins' style.

Lol man listen to Johnny Cash almost all his song have the same basic tune or start or both. It's good Johnny didn't focus on the tune so much as the words and meaning the tunes doesn't need to be Mozart when the lyrics and vocals are good xD Anyway Great song love Johnny R.I.P. still got all his stuff =]
