Wake Up Lyrics

I've been buried in the sand
I've come down with no place to land
I don't need you to understand
It's not what I had planned

All the hunger, all the yearning
With the lifeline that you're burning
Poison lessons that you're learning
The road ahead is turning

Suicidal education
It got sold to our generation
Wake up to the manipulation
Wake up to the situation
Suicidal education

Stick together side by side
We no longer need to hide
From the darkness into the light
Now is your time

I need something to numb the pain
Forget me and forget my name
Waiting for the time to arrive
No one gets out of here alive

WTF is wrong with international students?

They pour money into our university system - they all pay more then we do. Without them we would all have to pay more.

"Teachers in today's society are stressed by lack of pay, so they become Left & didactically close their minds, "

You, my friend, are a moron. Stress causes people to turn left? where did you pull that from?

Anyway, the song is about not being able to trust the education system: "I've been buried in the sand I've come down with no place to land" If you can't trust the education system, then you can't trust everything that you've been taught. He is just saying that he has no solid ground to stand on anymore, because he doesn't trust his own perception/mind, because it was molded by the education system.

Most of the rest of the song basically expresses the point of view that humanity is doomed if we are all brainwashed to think the same way. Progress happens with innovative, creative, new ideas. If the education system stifles creativity and open thinking; and promotes conformism, them humanity is doomed. Also, we are doomed because the masses are being taught to mindlessly follow the leaders. The leaders are only interested in making money at the expense of the masses, and this is doomed to collapse. There might even be a little of global warming/environmental destruction in there.
