"And as my mind begins to spread its wings Theres no stopping curiosity"
"I'll share this love I find with everyone"
my two fav lines in the song... when i listen to this song this is what i get out of it..life isn't about all the negatives really. look at the bright side of things and enjoy yourself..live for the moment. not everything is what it seems to be..when things go wrong there's always something good that comes along the way..and we should all just have fun and i hope that this feeling that i get or the "love" that i have for everyone doesn't go away..b/c im nineteen years old and somtimes i think and wonder how i'm going to be when i get older.and i don't want to change my kind heart..b/c i know that when i get older the pressure of money or of getting a job.. generally everything is going to built pressure on me but at the same time my kind heart won't fade..but i will never let the feeling go away.... like a part of yourself won't change i know many ppl can relate to what im saying haha hopefully.. but yeah i love this song !!
This song has great depth in its meaning and will take more then just a simple, "how this song makes me feel," but rather, what Jack Johnson (JJ) is trying to say with this song. For those who are familiar with the idea of different grades of thinking, JJ is showing how he is a grade one thinker when he says, "I want to turn the whole thing upside down, I'll find the things they say just can't be found," followed directly with the quote "I'll share this love I find with everyone." For those not familiar with different grades of thinking, three being the lowest and one being the highest, JJ shows he is a grade one thinker by becoming enlightened, and then returning to share the enlightenment with everyone. He shows us how we as people should treat each other. We should all be grade one thinkers and want to enlighten one another rather than to put one another down. JJ also says, "We'll sing and dance to mother nature's song." If you notice, he uses "WE'LL," as in EVERYONE! He shows how a grade one thinker will think of everyone as a whole and not of just themselves. LEE WOULD LIKE THIS ONE!!
couldn't agree with you more. If there's one thing Jack Johnson has proven in his entire body of work, it's that he is indeed enlightened and knows his role in bringing about a positive change in the world... and he is effective at this.

I think the opening paragraph really touches on the idea of impossibility only being a limit to the box that so many people are stuck in and the belief that perception is infinitely unique. "I can feel a change in everything and as the surface breaks reflections fade" I think he is speaking of a global change in conscious...

"I can feel a change in everything and as the surface breaks reflections fade" I think he is speaking of a global change in conscious awareness. He knows more and more people are becoming enlightened and that the common man is waking up from his ego illusion. The "surface" meaning the mask/front everybody has to cover up their insides breaks, and "reflections fade" meaning images and materiality crumble as love and truth spill out to replace it (only in some people!)
I know and can relate to not wanting the feeling to go away, it is very hard to hold onto at times but I think knowing that you create the world around you just by how you display your attitude and how you handle adversity is hopeful. Thank you Jack, keep making music, you are a wise man
This song is about being a child, and then transitioning to an adult, everything carefree and happy and anything is possible, then the last lines "Please don't go away," is wanting to hang onto that as you watch it fade away "Is this how it's supposed to be?" Wondering if this is the way life really is where everything's so simple and boring and nothing is magical anymore.
From the Upcoming Curious George Soundtrack out in february. Same general riff as G.A.T.E/ Who's to say
i want this song so bad.................gonna try and buy the single off of itunes then wait and buy the soundtrack .....man its gonna be sweet
Ya... same as G.A.T.E.... great song! Album out Feb. 7th! really reminds you of curious george in my mind. Great stuff Jack! Keep it up!
love it
supernothings,
I kinda agree with you that even though this song is an improvement on whos's to say he should of made a new one. The thing is though that this album was rushed and it is not exactly going to be the nect BF is is it. i'm just glad to get some new material but i am getting a bit worried at the fact that his music is not what it was. I hope his next album when he releases it in a few years compares to OaO or brushfire.
yes basterdo your right this is an easy song to listen to and the album will do well but i miss the more interesting music from jack! lyrics are pretty self explanitory, and great little song, but i hope hell go back to where he started
songs hot like summer
