I don't think so. I think it's like say a girl he saw far away or in a photo or something who has become his muse.
Yeah, that's what I think. Someone in an old photo- I thought even someone who might be dead, and it's sort of like... She's his muse, and in a way he's in love with the idea of her but knows she doesn't really exist. Lines like "It's a little one sided but that's all right" and "You sit on the bed in the dark, changing places<br /> With the ghost that was there before you came" I mean, it's like he's just imagining her being there. She doesn't interact with him, he interacts with her. And then there's lines like <br /> <br /> "I don't dare to touch your hand<br /> I don't dare to think of you<br /> In a physical way<br /> And I don't know how you smell"<br /> <br /> that imply he realizes she isn't really there, and he doesn't want to shatter the illusion. It sort of reminds me of that song about Anne Frank.
