Customer Lyrics
Tape's rolling...okay
(I'm in love with the girl who works at the store where I'm nothing but a...)
Customer
I'm a customer
I'm a customer
I'm a customer
How about cigarettes?
I'll take sugarless
You sell Wondermint?
I'm a customer
I'm a customer
I'm a customer
Yeah, can I get change?
Where're the Twinkies?
What's on sale?
I'm a customer
I'm a customer
I'm a customer
I love you
(BACKWARDS: I don't give a fuck, that's it.)
Customer
I'm a customer
I'm a customer
I'm a customer
I'll take sugarless
You sell Wondermint?
I'm a customer
I'm a customer
I'm a customer
Where're the Twinkies?
What's on sale?
I'm a customer
I'm a customer
I'm a customer
I love you

YESSSSSSS. The meaning's pretty straightforward, I think, but still, when I was in middle school I'd walk by a boy I liked on purpose or make up excuses to talk to him, kind of like this. Actually, one time I DID tell him I loved him, just like in the song. Ah, embarrassing. But very relatable!
oh, me and my modern ears. it first in the beginning it sounded like he was saying something like "okay, i'm in love with a girl that works at starbucks...". I mean, starbucks opened in the 1970's, but i'm not sure how common they were in '81. Also the items he lists can't be bought at starbucks anyway. shot down my own theory. This record in general is really great. There's a gap in my Replacements collection between stink and tim. I'm sure someday i'll get the music that goes in between there.
