Barabajagal Lyrics
She came, she came to meet a man, she found an angel.
Goo goo, goo goo Barabajagal was his name now,
Goo goo, goo goo Barabajagal was his name now,
Goo goo, goo goo Barabajagal was his name now.
He very wise in the herbal lore 's got your cure now.
She came, she came to free the pain with his wild flower.
Goo goo, goo goo Barabajagal was his name now,
Goo goo, goo goo Barabajagal was his name now.
Goo goo, goo goo Barabajagal was his name now,
Goo goo, goo goo Barabajagal was his name now.
Fine fine, fine fine Acelandine be prepared for her.
Tea tea, tea tea to make her free while incense burned.
In love pool eyes float feathers after the struggle.
The hopes burst and shot joy all through the mind
Sorrow more distant than a star.
Multi colour run down over your body,
Then the liquid passing all into all
Love is hot truth is molten.
True true, true true the song he sang her while the leaves cooked
Ting ting, ting little bell he rang her, sleepily she looked.
He filled, he filled a leather cup, holding her gaze
She took, she took a little sip while this song he sang:
Goo goo, goo goo Barabajagal was my name now,
Goo goo, goo goo Barabajagal was my name now.

Great song cant believe noone commented on it. Its a shame when people begin getting into 60's music Donovanis almost always completely ignored. He should be right up there with The Beatles,Doors, and Dylan.
That is the sublime Nicky Hopkins on piano, along with the Jeff Beck Band. Hopkins officially joined Beck's band briefly in 1968, just long enough for them to appear together on this classic track and play a few gigs. Touring proved too much for Hopkins who had suffered from medical problems since childhood, and he returned to session work.
Unbelievably great song, a bit of a departure for Donovan getting down and funky and away from his love-peace-and-flowers previous image. The incomparable Jeff Beck on guitar, plus Ronnie Wood on bass, the superb Nicky Hopkins mixing it up on the keys, Mickey Waller on drums, and a trio of superb backing female vocalists: Madeline Bell, Suzi Quatro, and the late Lesley Duncan (later Cox).
Hell yeah!! I think that this is the greatest song...like the majority of 60's music, it's probably about sex...the two fell in love while he was trying to heal her, they had a wonderufl "free sixties, baby" experience together ^^; beautiful stuff!
My father always said Barabajagal is the devil and that I'd go to hell if I listened to this song. Hahaha!
This song is about opium tea- very wise in herbilore, free the pain with his wildflower etc. Great song, I love the piano playing.
