Mmmkay, i think i get what this song means: There's a guy and a girl and they love each other, theyve been through a lot together "through the future and the past tense" but they believe its over "so you think we're never coming back" The girl doesnt want it to end, she wants him with everything she has. "Scoring points for passion and persistence" then "lies the danger and the safety" their hearts are inbetween, they can still be mended, but they are close to danger. The guy never thought it was going to last, as much as the girl knew it coulkd and shoulve "you never thought that it was going to last" She doesnt regret what happened, as much as the guy wishes she would "i always new you'd never take it back"

"Iknow it seems that we're never coming back, i know it feels that we're never coming back, you tried your best but you knew it wouldnt last, these are the words that she place on her casket" so the chorus, she feels and knows he's never coming back, they arent going to be, she tried her best and gave everything she had but it was so could she knew it couldnt last because he wasnt going to let it. She cant live without him, so this is what she took to the grave, knowing they couldnt be, werent going to be that it was over and she couldnt take that, she wants to die.

Yet the guy wont let it happen, even though the girl would give anything for it.) "one voice lacks emotion now"( the girl was so broken so hurt, still longing, the only thing she can do is try to feel nothing. She knows happiness isnt possible without him) i always knew (i always knew) (he never wanted to hurt her, but he knew he would, and did)

"instead of flowers like words that never mattered" (she tried to talk it out with him, but she couldnt convince him ever that they should be together) "close it off forget about the sadness"(she wants to forget, move on, forget, stop the saddness, the pain, but cant) "he always said she should of tried crying"(she always bottled it up around him, he wanted her to cry to let it out so he could see what he has done to her) "blaming him as she was lying down"(she always hated herself, knowing she wasnt good enough to have him, to convince him to be with her, but she knew if he would just give her a little bit it couldve been, but he wouldnt and still wont, she blames him for doing this to her because she knows she will never be better, never feel anything but nothingness, pain or saddness.

Thats my interpitation of the song, this song i related it to what has just happened to me, so it may not make sense to anyone else, but it does for me. This is exactly what has happened accept the guy in this song doesnt have a girlfriend, the one in my life is with someone else even though he says he loves me and wants me but wont let it happen.... nothingness is where i hide.

this song is awesome i lovee the chorus...how can people hate HH...other than being mtv fags haha...but really only small minded fucks hate bands because they are on mtv. HH may be a 'false' emo band in some peoples eyes but even if they are does that even matter? they have good music and are amazing lyrically..so whats bad about them? damned if i know

omg... i love this song to death.. too literally too.... lol.. but... i think... that this guy and this girl were trying to work it out... but both of them didnt really believe that they could do it so they ended up breaking up but then they realize that still have feelings for each other... but he doesnt want to get hurt again.. but hes kind of unsure... hmm.. what do yall think... thats what I perceived...
