Comin' Home Lyrics
Well I’ve been down to Georgia
I’ve seen the streets in the west
I’ve driven down the 90, hell I’ve seen America’s best
I’ve been through the Rockies, I’ve seen Saskatoon
I’ve driven down the highway 1, I just hope that I’d see you soon
Cause I’m coming home, I’m coming home
I’ve never been to Alaska, but I can tell you this
I’ve been to Lincoln, Nebraska and hell you know it aint worth shit
I’ve been through Nova Scotia, Sydney to Halifax
I’ll never take any pictures cause I know I’ll just be right back
Cause I’m coming home, I’m coming home
I’ve seen palaces in London; I’ve seen a castle in Wales
But I’d rather wake up beside you and breathe that ol ’familiar smell
I never thought you could leave me, I figured I was the one
But I understand your sadness, so I guess I should just hold my tongue
But I’m coming home, I’m coming home
I know we’re takin’ chances, you told me life was a risk
But I have just one last question…
Will it be my heart or will it be his?
Coming home , I’m coming home
I’ve seen the streets in the west
I’ve driven down the 90, hell I’ve seen America’s best
I’ve been through the Rockies, I’ve seen Saskatoon
I’ve driven down the highway 1, I just hope that I’d see you soon
I’ve been to Lincoln, Nebraska and hell you know it aint worth shit
I’ve been through Nova Scotia, Sydney to Halifax
I’ll never take any pictures cause I know I’ll just be right back
But I’d rather wake up beside you and breathe that ol ’familiar smell
I never thought you could leave me, I figured I was the one
But I understand your sadness, so I guess I should just hold my tongue
But I have just one last question…
Will it be my heart or will it be his?

this is a gorgeous song... first time i listened to the CD all the way through this is the one when i went back to first; it just really got me.
I really hate Dallas Green...so much!
Why does he have to write such beautiful songs?!
This one actually made me cry! Not even "Sometimes (I Wish)" did that!
Damn him!
I guess the meaning's quite simple - about how touring has taken him away from a girl he loves and she's tired of waiting for him to return so she's found someone else
I agree with your meaning, Harry. It's a beautiful song. What do you reckon this actually happened to him and he wrote this song about it? If I wasn't considered a minor, and all the way in Australia, I'd be right up there by his side.
I dunno - maybe it has happened to him who knows?
Luckily, I'm only 4 years younger than Dallas (and a girl btw) so I could be "right up there by his side."! lol
Except I prefer his friend George...
I also agree with all you said, HarryManback ..
Why does he have to be so damn loveable? u_u
Anyways. This song is amazing. Just as every other Dallas song.
I'm from Saskatoon, and when I heard that song I was like, "hooray!!" I was taken aback, why choose to name Saskatoon in your song? Adorable. Good song!
Beautiful song, Dallas Green is the most sencere and talented solo artist I've yet encountered.
