He knows that it'll be hard and lonely to let go of the girl (or the ghost of their relationship), but he's optimistic because he's anticipating the GOOD love that is, well, on the way.

I LOVE this song! Love love love love it! "done with broken people, this is me I'm working on," is one of the lines I love in this song. I think it means that you're sick of trying to 'mend' other people, and help them with their relationships while at the same time forgetting about your own. So its time to start working on yourself. This time you're the broken person. I dont know it makes sense to me.

This is definitely one of my favorite songs of his. When i got out of a long term relationship i was hurting pretty badly, but listening to this song gave me optimism that i would find the "good love" that i'm supposed to have with the person i'm supposed to be with.
