Worth The Wait Lyrics
If I had one shread of common sense I would have already left
Don't ask how long I've been waiting here, yeah you can probably guess
Tracing the arc of the hour hand, this clock's incredibly slow
You ask how long I've been waiting here, I think you already know
Cause I've been hanging out and counting down the time that I've been wasting
I've been holding on for way too long, you're always worth the wait though I guess
Measure in time by the bottle, and I've had more than a few
I'm standing up to get outta here, I'm standing up for myself now and this is long overdue
There ain't no two ways about it, I can't keep letting this go
You ask how long I've been waiting here, I think you already know
Cause I've been hanging out and counting down the time that I've been wasting
I've been holding on for way too long, you're always worth the wait though
And oh promising a promise if you know you're gonna break it
I've been holding on for way too long, you're always worth the wait though I guess
Well I keep hanging out and counting down the time that I've been wasting
I've been holding on for way too long, you're always worth the wait though
And oh promising a promise if you know you're gonna break it
I've been holding on for way too long, you're always worth the wait though I guess

^^those lyrics arnt quite right... it's 'a promise ain't a promise if you know you're gonna break it' i think. But i could be wrong...
POssibly about a guy who keeps coming back to the same girl even thought it never works out, and even though he knows that no matter how many times he tries to make it work it just plain buggers up... but in the end she always seems worth the trouble.
Catchly little tune, i must say.
yeah I think you're right. "And oh promising a promise if you know you're gonna break it " doesn't even make sense...
ive had it checked and its not. the lyrics do stand around ' promising a promise if you know youre gonna break it'. if you listen to it aswell i think you can just about hear it. i think. :)
sorry i meant you right. god. right ' a promise aint a promise if you know your going break it. terribly sorry :)
omg why hasnt barely anyone commented , this is a well good song!
my perception's just a bit different:
I figure, Keith's obviously insanely in love with someone (or just really likes them). Keith wants to start a relationship up with them, but they keep saying no. I'm not sure why. Could be they've just gotten out of a relationship, something like that. But Keith keeps giving her time, but she keeps making excuses, and it's been so long, obviously far too long, but Keith thinks 'she's worth the wait, though, I guess'. he guesses, because he knows she's not really worth the wait if she's making him wait so long. I don't think she plans on ever being with Keith. She's probably just using him so she'll always have someone there and never be alone.
Best Song On The Album For Guitar Riff. :)
I like this song. Once again, I must say the video is very minimalist.
Shouldn't it be 'measuring time by the bottle'? Why would you 'measure in time by the bottle'? I've always seen this song as someone who knows that someone they like is pretty much screwing them over in that they're never there for them or anything and this person knows that they should really stand up and say something, but they still wait because there's that possibility that if anything does happen then it will be brilliant. Wooo I saw them live last night! =]
i agree with your comment its like she stands him up all the time or is never there and he cant see her enough and she acts a bit indifferent!!! but when they do spend time together its great and he cant get over that so even though he knows the relationship isnt right for him he keeps letting her do what she does just so that he can have those precious to him moments!
