I think this song talks about the bad things we do, then we try to hide it. the "secrets". All of our mistakes catch up to us "Into the distance I hear them coming with torches lit" We run away from the punishments and consequences, and at the end he realizes he can't run forever and that he'll need to find a permanent way out. I think the last line talks about how God wants all of you (he wants your blood, he wants your heart)
I believe it talks about how all the Sin in your life slowly chokes out your fire for God, and makes you turn and run away. Though we are still fooling ourselves, trying to hide the obvious, we search for something that can makes us clean, make us feel God, or restore our relationship with Christ. But all God wants is to heal you, not condemn you.
