Jen Is Bringin' the Drugs Lyrics
Jen is bringing the drugs.
She wants to get real fucked up.
She used to laugh and smile,
But the years of denial.
Have taken their toll on her doubt.
But, me, I do as I please.
I caught you and set you free.
Cause I have been left alone by the people I've known.
And I don't know when they're coming home.
And Jen don't wanna be seen,
But I saw her in a swank magazine.
She had an airbrushed face,
But the lines of distaste
were crossed without crossing of legs.
And I don't wanna be found.
So when you get home,
I'm skipping town.
I'm leaving to go someplace
where nobody will have any clue where I am.
And Jen is bringing the drugs.
She's gonna get me fucked up.
Cause love is an inkless pen.
It's a tavern, it's sin.
It's a horrible way to begin.
She wants to get real fucked up.
She used to laugh and smile,
But the years of denial.
Have taken their toll on her doubt.
I caught you and set you free.
Cause I have been left alone by the people I've known.
And I don't know when they're coming home.
But I saw her in a swank magazine.
She had an airbrushed face,
But the lines of distaste
were crossed without crossing of legs.
So when you get home,
I'm skipping town.
I'm leaving to go someplace
where nobody will have any clue where I am.
She's gonna get me fucked up.
Cause love is an inkless pen.
It's a tavern, it's sin.
It's a horrible way to begin.

"Cause love is an inkless pen."
Ace.
The best part's the little half solo followed by "fuck it" and comping
actually it's "have taken their toll on her doubt", i think
Being in a relationship before with someone addicted to drugs, its easy for me to relate to this song. It describes a person who has grown fond of curing the pain with drugs. 'jen' obviously is depressed, and tired. Also, looking for happiness in all the wrong places such as porn, or modeling naked in magazines. my favorite line is 'love is an inkless pen, its tavern, its sin, it's a horrible way to begin.' bc obviously the other person probably loved her and it didnt work out bc of her addiction. and it got him nowhere
very well written song
wow. sad no comments on this song yet. truly a great song. i love the "She had an airbrushed face, But the lines of distaste were crossed without crossing of legs." and the very last stanza. great song. great band.
good lord.
i love this song. but im scared that one day that will be me. ill be jen.
I agree with what Laurenelizabeth said. :(
God dammit this song is good.
And I agree about the "fuck it" part, and with breakdown's interpretation.
Agreed. Without the fuck it and it sounding like he's just quitting the song the song wouldn't be nearly as good. Plus the emphasis on the FuckkkT up when he says that makes it better.
As with most MATNSAS songs it's very sad when you listen to the lyrics.
