The Price Lyrics
How long I have wanted
this dream to come true
and as it approaches
I can't believe I'm through
I've tried,
Oh, how I've tried
For a life, yes a life
I thought i knew
Oh it's the price we gotta pay
And all the games we gotta play
Makes me wonder if it's worth it to carry on
Cause it's a game we gotta lose,
Though it's a life we gotta choose
And the price is our own life until it's done
Time seems to have frozen
But the mind can be fooled
As the days pass i discover
Destiny just can't be ruled
Hard times,
Oh hard times,
For the prize, yes the prize,
I thought i knew
Oh it's the price we gotta pay
And all the games we gotta play
Makes me wonder if it's worth it to carry on
Cause it's a game we gotta lose,
Though it's a life we gotta choose
And the price is our own life until it's done
Oh it's the price we gotta pay
And all the games we gotta play
Makes me wonder if it's worth it to carry on
Cause it's a game we gotta lose,
Though it's a life we gotta choose
And the price is our own life until it's done
Oh it's the price we gotta pay
And all the games we gotta play
Makes me wonder if it's worth it to carry on
Cause it's a game we gotta lose,
Though it's a life we gotta choose
And the price is our own life until it's done
this dream to come true
and as it approaches
I can't believe I'm through

On House of Hair he said it was about his first child being born, and his having to be on the road away from his wife and kid for his music and how much it tore at him.
By far the best song ever written. Dee Snider and Twisted Sister rock.
This is Twisted Sister's best song, no questions asked.
I think this song is about how they made it but it was with the help of everybody else that supported them.
this song is ABSOLUTELY AWESOMNESS!!!! i hart twisted sister with my life and it pains me to say that they arent my fave band but i will still luv them foreva
@elisha amenesia watever!
@elisha amenesia watever!
i think it's saying life is one big game in which we ultimately lose no matter how hard we tried
Great song. I agree it's Twisted Sister's best. I am sad to say I bought this album in 1985 when I was just a kid but really did not discover this song until I was 20 or so. What a great tune.
Agree with above. It's about life at the struggle to get what you want. It's tough but in the end it will cost you your life. Really a good song that still sounds great today.
I think it's about how someone waits for his time to shine but as it turns out he's already missed his chance and now he's regretting his failure to grasp that once in his life chance and is pay his price.I subject may be about his career , ambition or even a girl, that he lost to another man. It's best by Twisted sisters
Honestly I thought this song was about death, because someone was unhappy with their live and they wanted to end it. But someone else is telling them life is full of challenges you just have to be strong to fight for what you want, once you fought for it hold on to it with your life and you will have paid the ultimate price which is your own life
I believe the song is about the rise to fame and the price that goes along with it, probably including all the games with the record companies. But still, it's a life they choose
