I cant beleive no body has commented this song yet. I love smile empty soul their songs are so easy to relate to for so many people.

The meaining is pretty obvious hes trying to get away from his girlfriend becaue he knows that after the relationship is better and he can "get the fuck away from her" the his life will be better. I think hes having a hard time tho hes telling himself he doesnt need her buit it hink somehow hes still emotionally attached.

i think he has a girlfriend who is a drug addict, and she is dragging him down also. he knows he must let her go or go down that road with her. when he say's he 's cutting himself off he means it in two ways. 1. from the girl. 2. from the drugs and the life she brings around.

i think this means when they are together they feed off each others bad habits and make it worse for each other. just my thoughts. could be totally wrong

I agree with the drug addict theory. I think that he pushed away all his friends

that makes me think all his friends told him not to get caught up in her and the drugs but he didn't listen and now the "storm has come" and their going to break up and he wonders if he can go on without the drugs because she and the drugs "cover his scars" and help him forget about his shitty past.

It's about drugs. That's it. No girlfriend, Just drugs. A relationship with drugs.

Yeah, it sounds like he's talking /to/ the drugs. At first I thought maybe it sounded a little generic with the words and sound, but seeing it that way actually makes me feel a little better. Smile Empty Soul kicks ass.
