End of Home Lyrics
Darkness fell upon the garden
As I sadly sat alone
Dreaming of the end of summer
And again the end of home
Our love was like a flowing river
Deeper still than what it seemed
It consumed my waking hours
Creeping deep into my dreams
As I sadly sat alone
Dreaming of the end of summer
And again the end of home
Deeper still than what it seemed
It consumed my waking hours
Creeping deep into my dreams

Although it's only a minutw long, this is actually probably my favorite song from The Residents. I'm sure what it's about, but I think it's of a "normal" relationship between a husband and wife, like the kind that isn't anything special but still lasts until death. I think this is when the man is old and the wife has died and him realizing the love between them was "deeper than what it seemed". The "End of Home" is the end of the usual; the end of the simple life he's become used to. But I don't doubt at all that I'm wrong.
