the rest, to me, is saying they see the hurt coming before anything starts &are saying they're not going to give their heart up, they'd rather stay safe and watch from a distance.

they don't want to fall in love becuase of the hurt it can bring.

i got it! i have tried several times and it diddnt work so i tried again and now it did...ok look closely at the first part....it seems like hes reading watching this girl that he would love to go out with but he doesnt want to show it...On safes unsafe mainly due to ticking contents When I was watching timer tick tocking...this is talking about his heart being a time bomb and when it goes off all his emotions come out....To carry out thoughts of a small scale destruction I saw this one coming there's no use in running...she left him and is going to ask him out but there is going to be a small scale destruction if he says yes and there is no use in running because the time bomb finally went off and hes saying yes... A regret you might say a worry you might say...thats pointing once again to the small scale destruction! so ha

(When I was listening to this I had a concept in my mind.. directorial thinking! hahaha.. as if -_-; anyways)

The first verse may start with the guy--the one singing it--thinking how ironically funny it was that he's a guy who's grown to be cynical about love and then when he gets to kiss the girl of his dreams, he gets bitten.

He was--in what I'm thinking anyway--looking back on those times, thinking how smitten he was with her even if knowing that if he falls for her hard it would be like his downfall. [Because he is cynical about love!]

On the part about "Don't open the safe the safe is unsafe.." I could probably say that he was warning the girl about this relationship--kind of like "If we go there, there's no going back!"

And I could probably say he was being in denial when in the parts, "No you won't disarm my heart.."

but then again I'm not sure..

This is a perfect song for when a cynical person then falls inlove. It sounded pretty sad.. but I love this song anyway.

I can't really explain my interpretation of this song--I'd rather see it having acted or done in a video just to get the message across but.. I can't really express it in words right now ^^;

This song bluntly talks about love, and frankly, it's lovely and smooth and rhythmic and I just can't stop loving it... the lyrics in the chorus take my breath away, and sweep me off my feet. Bravo to Hush.
