this song is really great, i love it also. i've just started listening to The Like, i saw their video for this song, it was pretty spiffy.

wow i never thoguht that they we're on this site yet..but yeah i luv this song the tune is fun to dance to well i woddle but whatever good song...don't understand it much yet though... peace

ohh wait i gte it now it's like about some dying relationship,but in the song i guess taht they sorta diguised it through seasons,and its like syaing that it shouldnt take so long for someone to stop the death of the relationship...and that they both sorta wanna end it together...i think im not explaining this very well :( well peace

ha i figured out another meaning...it could be about a friendship thats starting to part and she doesnt want it to but its most likely heading to that! im speaking from a but of experience...peace!

I like the Like. This is the first like song i ever heard and i love them. One of my all time favourite bands. this song is so deepand meaningful and sung with so much strength. The Like are an awsome band with an awsome album and i wish they were more well known in Australia. i want them to come here! lol

I feel this sing is about a group of friends or people. I think the narrarator is pointing out a problem or a way of doing things that is know by the group to be inefficient or not right but they all keep doing it because no one is brave enought to say anything.

"nothing changes all we do is wait our heads hanging shaking in dismay cuz everyone's afraid"

I think they just reinforce this n the chorus by saying

"we need another way"

But is alos adding that something really horrible would have to happen to get anyone to speak up.

"looks like the end of days but it takes so much more for anyone to say we need another way but if we wanted one we'd do it just the same"

and that if they found another way they would end up changing back to their old ways.

The second verse is a little more challenging but I think it's saying that even though this darkness is coming everyone is

"soaked in sun"

and pretending it's alright.

Twoards the end I think the narrorator is beginning to get annoyed with all this and is starting to speak up a bit but needs others to follow it through.

"words don't change a thing"

and she wishes she could stop this all.

"wish that i couls save you wish that i could stop this"

and in the end I think she just bends her head and shuts up and decides to let the rest to find out for themsleves, even though she may or may not go down with them.

I dont know. That's my take.

I watched the like play at the download festival a couple of weeks ago. They rocked. :D This song is kind of the situation I'm in right now. I graduated from high school this summer and my friends all started leaving 'one by one.' We still keep in touch, but already I can feel everyone drifting apart. And we do 'want another way,' but that's life for you. =/

I love this song, the contrast between the lyrics and the music is great. I read somewhere the lyrics are about them when they were "going through a dark time" or something....I think it's mostly about them trying to get a message through but no-one's listening...I kind of agree with lilyloves.
