The Procession Lyrics
the procession went smoothly, the lights low and dim. i raised my clear glass and i toast times to heaven, but you're not the same love that i used to know. well, i'll break this guitar and board up these windows. just make sure they know that i won't return.
with my bloody lips, and your broken arms, we'll turn into one and we'll sing the same song. with my sinking feet and your heavy heart, no don't you start. no don't you start this again.
this house screams of memories and half-written songs, with the chance of completion depending on love. this disconnected phone, well, it is seldom to speak. although, when it does its so harsh and complete.

my god. i love manchester orchestra. too much amazing for one band. i dont know how they do it.
this is so amazing
underrated song by an underrated band. amazing
This song is about the feelings after a breakup. The person he was in love with no longer exists, she's changed into someone else. And whenever they talk, he's reminded of this fact. He knows there's no going back. This new person just isn't the same.
Well Procession means going forward, so I guess its just about moving on after a break up. and trying not to speak to her, or having her talk to him. even though the memories are there, and avoiding talking cause when they do, all they do is fight.
For me its about breaking up and trying to move on, but how the break up is affecting both of them. I also get the feeling they still see each other, which only makes is harder, highlighted by the line
"My sinking feet, and your heavy heart, Now dont you start, dont you start, this again"
Thats just my interpretation
Good song by a reallly good band.
