No more trying
Too much terribleness these days
And what you thought was true
Well, they were lying to you
And made a kid cry
So did you change the locks?
And did you hide the fox cub?
Don’t make fun
Because we don’t
So did you change the locks?
And did you hide the fox cub?
Don’t make fun
Because we don’t
Too much terribleness these days
And what you thought was true
Well, they were lying to you
And made a kid cry
So did you change the locks?
And did you hide the fox cub?
Don’t make fun
Because we don’t
And did you hide the fox cub?
Don’t make fun
Because we don’t

I´m not sure what is this about. Maybe it´s about terrible people, they have lied and made bad things. And the kid is trying to escape from them and truing to hide what they are searching for.
This week I have become absolutely enamoured with this song. n_n How he sings "No more trying" just breaks my heart. The childishness in his voice, the near tears sound he makes while saying them. It makes me think of a sort of 'abused' child, generally. But personally it takes me back to 8th grade. Haha, it's lame, but it makes me think of how lost I was and looking back how completely alone I was while kids started/formed/joined their groups already. He just seems so frustrated; it's almost as though you can't even hear it because of the mask of already knowing he's going to be ignored, his agony of juvenile pain. It's crippling. He's so innocent, and everything around him is so corrupt, and self-involved. I have no idea what the song really means, just the imagery that comes to mind when I hear it.
Couldn't have put it better myself. It definately reminds me of some bad years in school.

I think the song's about a paranoid person trying to protect their sanity or innocence (the fox cub).
