Are You Still Dying, Darling? Lyrics
Are you still dying darling?
Are you still in pain?
Are you still crying, despite the morphine in your veins?
A fluorescent haze hangs and
for a second makes you invisible.
But you try in vain to reach out through your
life-support machine
And all the multi-coloured tubes that pump and drain.
Are you still dying darling?
Are you still dying darling?
All this wasting away
All this prolonged misery
And all this stripping away your dignity
is killing me.
That expression on your face pleading through your agony.
Are you still dying darling?
Are you still sighing?
Shall I end it for you?
You'll see I'll make it easy for you.
Just one blink and I'll help you to break through.
When Neverneverland beckons to you
You can dance with Peter Pan
Make rings around the moon.
Are you still dying darling?
Are you still dying darling?
No more injections
No more medication
No more complications for you.
Lessen the load for you.
No more, no more, no more.
No more are you still dying darling?
Are you still dying darling?
Are you still dying darling?
Are you still dying darling?
Are you still dying darling?
Are you still in pain?
Are you still crying, despite the morphine in your veins?
for a second makes you invisible.
But you try in vain to reach out through your
life-support machine
And all the multi-coloured tubes that pump and drain.
Are you still dying darling?
All this prolonged misery
And all this stripping away your dignity
is killing me.
That expression on your face pleading through your agony.
Are you still sighing?
Shall I end it for you?
Just one blink and I'll help you to break through.
You can dance with Peter Pan
Make rings around the moon.
Are you still dying darling?

No more complications for you.

No more, no more, no more.

I think it is definately about Siouxsie's beliefs on euthanaisa, as she said of this song that if she were ever in a comatose state she would want them to turn of the machine instead of leaving her undignified and hooked up to machinery. It isn't about one of the guitarists as far as I know.
I can't see it being about Mcgeoch as he died unexpectedly in his sleep I believe and wasn't in a situation described in this song.
According to their biography it's about their manager Nils Stevenson.
I was told that this song is a reference to Siouxsie's beliefs on euthanasia which is probably true. But there seems to be an underlying personal story of some kind here as well. Any ideas??
i read in the biography that siouxsie wrote this song about one of the guitarists, i cant reember which one, that up and left them suddenly.
John McGeoch I believe.
