This song sounds like someone who has been left suddenly, by someone he loved in very much, without knowing what went wrong "all my hopes and dreams are drowned by confusion" and it was a pain he never felt before "pain redefined" and hes trying to get over it by lying to himself.

I think this song sounds like someone who's in a relationship with a person who lies a lot, and it hurts. But, the singer can't decide whether to leave her or not, so he's stuck there, in pain but unable to stop it.
