Ten Speed (Of God's Blood and Burial) Lyrics
I can feel it in the way your blood and heart beats
(Your body's caught in a race I've already won)
Or is it in the way your body moves?
(I'd like to tell you, but I think that you already know)
The words I dragged out from your mouth speak
(So listen up well, listen up well)
In her vision, I have given company
(You see no evil in leaving their bodies at home)
Believe her, you'll leave her
In leaving them all
(No, but I don't buy it)
Like anything you do, as anyone you are
(Ten Speed, if I must, then I must)
Believe her, you'll leave her
In leaving them all
(No, but I don't buy it)
Like anything you do, as anyone you are
If written only even, If written only even
If written only even, If written only even
If written only even tracing the choice to save you
I wouldn't answer if it even had to ask
In her figure, I've instilled a taste of my own
(So listen up well, listen up well)
To make it easier, the tapered life I know
(As the curse will return from the hell of your heart and your soul)
Believe her, you'll leave her
In leaving them all
(No, but I don't buy it)
Like anything you do, as anyone you are
(Ten Speed, if I must, then I must)
Believe her, you'll leave her
In leaving them all
(No, but I don't buy it)
Like anything you do, as anyone you are
Nobody knows but you, nobody knows but you
'Cause I don't want to ride tonight,
I don't wanna go
I don't want to ride tonight,
Oh, baby, I don't wanna go
Believe her, you'll leave her
In leaving them all
(No, but I don't buy it)
Like anything you do, as anyone you are
(Ten Speed, if I must, then I must)
Believe her, you'll leave her
In leaving them all
(No, but I don't buy it)
Like anything you do, as anyone you are
Ten Speed in God's blood and burial
Ten Speed of God's blood and burial
Ten Speed in God's blood and burial
Ten Speed of God's blood and burial
Ten Speed in God's blood and burial

im re-typing the lyrics with the part of the song when Tenspeed and the Writer talking back and forth, along with Claudio's definition of what this songs about:
I can feel it in the way your blood and heart beats My body's cold and it thinks I'm already gone Or is it in the way your body moves I'd like to tell you But I think that you already know The words I drag out from your mouth speak So listen up world, listen up world In her vision I have given company They see no evil in leading their bodies from home
Believer, you'll leave her, in leaving them all No but I don't buy it Like anything you do, as anyone you are Ten Speed, if I must... then I must
If written wrote me even chance And the choice to save you I wouldn't answer if it even had to ask In her figure I've instilled a taste of my own To make it easier to take what life I'm owed As the curse has returned from the hell of you Heart and your soul
Nobody knows but you I don't want to ride tonight... No I don't want to go
[Spoken:] "So are you going to kill her?" "No, I love her character, she stays" "Love has only gotten you in this position, I say kill her off!" "Yeah, but you say a lot of things.. and how does that work?.....you're a bicycle"
Cause I'm... Ten Speed, of God's Blood & Burial
end.
"Ten Speed is the Writer's subconscious, like the Son Of Sam dog. This is a dialogue, Ten Seed telling the Writer that he knows of a way to get out of his rut: All he needs to do is stop doing the story." -Claudio Sanchez
Claudio Sanchez: “Ten Speed is the Writer’s subconscious, like the son of Sam dog. The is a dialogue, Ten Speed telling the Writer he knows of a way to get out of his rut: All he needs to do is stop doing the story.”
Writer is shaken by his violent visions, and is becoming slightly paranoid of himself. Despite his hate for Erica, he still loves her and wishes her no harm. Ten Speed, a delusion of Writer’s that takes the form of a demon bicycle, appears to him, telling him how to alleviate his own suffering. Writer is frightened and at first tells Ten Speed to leave him alone. However, Ten Speed persists and they continue a conversation about why Writer is suffering and what must be done to stop it. Their conversation is about the Character, Claudio, and his world. In that world is Ambellina, in whom Writer has invested all of his love for Erica, keeping him attached to his failed relationship. Ten Speed tells Writer to kill her off and Writer says no because he loves her. When Ten Speed persists, Writer asks “how does that work? You’re a bicycle,” (this is the dialogue in the background of the song). Writer is still conflicted and confused as to what his story really has to do with his love life, and the agony that is consuming his life. -CobaltandCalcium.com
"But are you going to kill her off?" "It's not your decision. I love the character, she stays." "Yeah, well the only thing love's done is put you in this position; I say kill her off!" "Yeah, but you say a lot of things... and how does that work? You're a bicycle"
OK so this is the writing writer talking to his possessed ten speed...the character of Newo Ikken and The Prise Ambelina are the writing writers good (ambelina) and bad (newo) side of his adulterous girlfriend Erica Court...After he finds her cheating he proceeds to torture Erica (i.e. welcome home) He slowly descends into madness. His ten speed tells him that the only way to finish his story is to go into the story himself and kill of The Prise Ambelina...He doesn't want to Ambelina plays a very large part in this story to protect the world he has created. SO the short version of the explanation of this story is : HIs ten speed is telling him that he must descend further into madness and go into a fictitious world in his own mind and kill what is left of Erica Court..hope this clears the air a bit.
this song was played live at the Starland Ballroom in January and the name isn't confirmed. you can download it at http://www.cobaltandcalcium.com/
Yeah, this is one of Coheed's new songs, which is going to be on the next album Good Apollo: I'm Burning Star 4
The whole title to the 3rd album is, "Good Apollo: I'm Burning Star 4, Vol 1: In Fear Through The Eyes Of Madness"
i LOVE cobalt and calcium! someone, i forget their name, on the boards @ coheed.com made it, great great job...... The crowing, why is ther a volume 1 to disc 3? is there gonna be more tan one? its good to label it like that, cuz you cant have it be a title with the number 5, then the lyrics would have to maatch up with the fifth comic book, nad if more than 1 cd partains to a single book, i guess they would have to label it like that.
this reminds me of the issue between Al the killer, and Claudio's [from the comic book, not the vocalist] girlfriend, i forget her name....
For those of you who do not know, every Coheed and Cambria song is all about one story. You can read about the entire story, comic interpretations, and get over two gigs of Coheed and Cambria downloads at http://www.cobaltandcalcium.com . It's an amazing website...
so as far as my interpretation of the lyrics go... im still pretty unsure in my assumptions. initially thought it was about claudio and newo but now that ive thought it over im not so sure thats whats being described here.
my best guess is that its about a conflict between claudio and anbelina. ive formulated this theory through a few deductions and things i know to be accepted as truth. ok so follow me here.
anbelina was once a prise but was sent to help guide and protect claudio.
but since she is a prise (or was) she is operating on the prise's agenda. which is to end all humanity because they believe humans have grown too arrogant and dont show the proper reverance to "god" and they know that claudio is capable of doing just that. "Believe her, you'll leave her You're leaving more" "(ten speed if im lost then im lost)"
also later on in the album claudio sets fire to star four (the prise's home) hence the title of both the song and album. so before that happens anbelina and claudio must have some sort of falling out in which claudio refuses her guidance because if she was still guiding him in the way the prise intended i dont think she would have allowed him to set fire to her home.
so thats the bulk of my idea. i might be completely off but hey lack of sleep and listening to the same album consistantly can make you think up some pretty strange things
Well, it's (Ten speed, if I must, then I must.) Which is The Writer deciding to kill of Ambellina
Well, it's (Ten speed, if I must, then I must.) Which is The Writer deciding to kill of Ambellina
Though with the: Believe her, you'll leave her... I can see why you interpreted her as this.
Though with the: Believe her, you'll leave her... I can see why you interpreted her as this.
well lets go grab the graphic novel and i'll tell you what I think it is!: Okay well tenspeed is a bike. the section of the book starts out with tenspeed speaking to claudio through his mind[?] he is the 'voice that moves in the wheels below'. Claudio asks "What the hell are you?" and he replies back with "WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE?? IM A F*CKING BICYCLE!". my interpretation of the the story is that Tenspeed is trying to convince Claudio to kill Erica because in doing that he will find a way to tell "the boy". im not sure exactly who he his...maybe Jesse...? or maybe Patrick..what ever happed to him? So basically i think this song is really just an introduction for Tenspeed to come into the story....yep.
