Streamline Lyrics

I see an empty space next to the yellow bumble bee
That could be the perfect place to park my broken down ten speed
Just tell me when you get off work and where you'd like to meet
Then we can pedal up and down the crowded New York streets

My shoes are worn out, because the breaks don't function
I just put my feet down and let them drag on the pavement

When our legs get tired you can pick a spot to eat
Evelyn's so elegant and Nikolai's right by her side

Under one umbrella, just talking and joking
And I knew that I'd love you, for as long as you'd let me

And I haven't caught my breath since the moment that we met

We can be alone and not feel lonely
I've been drawing these robots with the pen you sent me

to be honest i like to think that this song has something to do with melanie wills,, since it refers to new york, which they are both from, and the last two lines, in my interpretation, pretty much mean they can be together without the feeling of being alone and as for the pen maybe the pen was a gift since he's a songwriter. I was once given a pen by a girl and every time i write with it she's all i think about.

My Opinion

If you listened to their songs, FATA writes deep music, the meaning isn't what you would initially think it is. Let me explain my point of view on this amazing song.

I personally think this song is about the aftermath of a relationship. I think it is about actually drawing robots and fantasizing him being with them since he has no one else. "We can be alone and not feel lonely I've been drawing these robots with the pen you sent me"

We and You - I don't think we is meaning him and another person, i think that means him and some person that he made up, because then it says i've been drawing these robots with the pen "You" sent me, thats where i get the aftermath of a relationship from.

"Evelyn's so elegant and Nikolai's right by her side Under one umbrella, just talking and joking"

This seems to me to be two people that he made up, even if it is someone he dated before and broke up with because it seems the whole song is fantasizing about a relationship that he wants, in this case that he had, but lost. But then as i keep thinking i get more and more meanings, this is really what i love about FATA songs, among everthing else their LYRICS are good. There are other songs that i hear and i see other people like them because they sound good or the singer sings them well. With FATA, it's the all around package, Fran can sing well - scream well if he wants to, and the lyrics this ban manifest are not your average, i love thier songs.

Very sad to me that they had to break up.

What a beautiful fucking song!

I think it's sort along the lines of meeting someone new and being totally blown away by them, but without that person realising. And you just create this fantasy of what could happen, and what you would do. Something along those lines...

But dammit, I love this song. Fran Mark has got such a great voice!

i would have to agree 100% with beniffaf on that comment. this song is absolutely beautiful, its pretty mellow, one of FATA's softer songs, but its fucking awsome, i love it. I reckon its about meeting someone new, falling in love with them, the last line im not to sure what thats trying to mean though; "ive been drawing robots with the pen you sent me" ..? regardless, this is a fucking awsome song, and FATA are incredible

I love this song so much. This may be a long shot, but Fran drew the cover of his album Biology, and that's a robot. There seems to be a few subtle connections like this to Biology, which would make sense since he was working on AYF and Biology at the same time...

This song is so damn good.....

I thinkt he song is much like you said, He's visioning this perfect relationship with a girl he barely knows, hanging out with his friends etc.

The robot part could mean the fact that, it's just thoughts. Since, their not real, he's making a connection between his thoughts and robot's. Something that has motion but since their not real, it's lacking the emotion that could really happen.

I think this song definatly is about a visioning of being with someone whom he admires from afar.

The last line really makes ya wonder. I don't think it has a real meaning that can be picked apart. I think it's included as the last line because he wants the person to know the song was about them. I'd like to think it has a personal meaning between just those two.

Could the ".. with the pen you sent me" line be a reference to "Say Anything..." with John Cusack and Ione Skye?

"And I haven't caught my breath since the moment that we met" is an amazing line
