Here I am to worship Lyrics

Light of the world
You stepped down into darkness
Open my eyes
Let me see
Beauty that made
This heart adore you
Hope of a life
Spent with you

CHORUS:
Here I am to worship
Here I am to bow down
Here I am to say that You're my God
You're altogether lovely
Altogether worthy
Altogether wonderful to me

King of all days
Oh, so highly exaled
Glorious in Heaven above
Humbly You came
To the earth You created
All for love's sake became poor

I'll never know how much it cost
To see my sin upon that cross

Cover art for Here I am to worship lyrics by Michael W. Smith

I love the last two lines: "I'll never know how much it cost to see my sin upon that cross." Just a big AMEN. A beautiful worship song. When I think of how frightened Jesus must have been (as he asked God why he had been forsaken) after all the pain and humiliation he had suffered at the hands of the Romans; Jews; and gentiles, I am rejuvinated; any problems present in my life are but a speck of dirt on the timeline of life. How fortunate we are to have God's grace (if we choose it). Smith does an excellent job with any song he sings. (Breathe is my favorite, but yet to be added to this site.)
