It’s over you’re sober -pants around your ankles
You’re ship wrecked - You‘ve gone mute
Nothing there to say
You’re naked and shaking like a 2 bit Judas
You fall down closefisted and end up in my way

You’re the people who just want me to notice
You’re the people I try so hard to ignore
You’re the coward who demands me to save him
You will smother - under covers- stapled to the mattress.

You traipse on your loved ones
Most who will disown you
You’ll search for a family, those you can destroy
Methodically sickened, by their inhibitions
But rather then fix it- you will just avoid

You’re the people who just want me to notice
You’re the people I try so hard to ignore
You’re the coward who demands me to save him
You will smother - under covers- stapled to the mattress.

You’re a person who I can’t help but notice –Enjoys drowning into other’s self disdain
Void of person – No, I don’t think I know you
Please hunt others
Vultures hover
You’re stapled to your matters

Stapled to the mattress
Stapled to the mattress
Stapled to the mattress
Stapled to the mattress
Stapled to the mattress

    My Interpretation

To me it kind of sounds like it's someone fighting alcoholism in the person they're involved with and identifying that even though they love them very much, they can't help them. Mainly the verse "You traipse on your loved ones Most who will disown you You’ll search for a family, those you can destroy Methodically sickened, by their inhibitions But rather then fix it- you will just avoid"

"You traipse on your loved ones, most who will disown you" - to traipse is to stumble or walk slowly or clumsily, like trudging or stumbling, much like a drunk does when under the influence. And although it's often a very sad decision, friends and family may distance themselves from someone who is too lost in their own sickness.

"You’ll search for a family, those you can destroy " - they want to find someone to feel sad and sick with, and on a subconscious level, they want to make that "family" just as sick as they are so they don't feel alone in it.

" Methodically sickened" due to alcoholism often being referred to as an illness of sorts, and then going down to "But rather then fix it- you will just avoid" How a lot of alcoholics drink to avoid thinking about why they drink, and avoid getting to the root of the problem.

That's just how that specific excerpt sounds to me though.

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.
