Drug trip? Overdose?! Once again I understand somebody possibly seeing it as a song about drugs but really in the context of Goldfrapp for me most of their songs are about emotions. Not about sex or drugs. Their lyrics are like poetry, using metaphors and the like to express an emotion.
This song for me represents giving something another chance. Not looking back, just giving happiness another go. "Breathing new life" into a once sour situation. The "sharp as teeth and stars" symbolizing the yearning and desperation to give in again. And once that happens finally glowing in the joy of this reunion.
I can see both interpretations, and Alison herself has said her favorite part of music is releasing it and letting us interpret it. I do find they are usually about emotions. I think if the drug reference was a little more solid in the song, I'd say she's using the drug reference in a metaphor for making this decision that danslesbois is hinting at. Although its presumably about a relationship with a person (because of the word "you" in the second line, it could be about anything. One thing is for sure, there is an optimistic tone, like it will...

Its mainly Alison's voice and the electronica / retro glam rock thing that attracts to me to Goldfrapp's music.
This is one my favourite songs to listen to simply because it get hugely turned on by Alison's voice in it!

I think this might be about a bad trip, or a heroin overdose. I'm just guessing here, but drugs seem to be the theme.
Sharp as teeth and stars = injection, the needle.
Like a moth to light = the one she's singing about being unable to resist, and being drawn back to drugs again and again.
Move like caramel = the dreamy, surreal effects of drug use? I can't say, but it sounds something like that.
Till dawn, you glow = the high, or the session, lasts through the night, the use being strung out afterwards.
Soon be nothing of this world = could refer to a surreal trip, or could be a warning (or assurance) of the threat of overdose and death?
Stabs at happiness = another needle reference? Addiction makes the high an exemplary state of happiness.
Now we're having fun/hold tight don't look down = the user either views being high as the ultimate state of wellbeing, or these lines describe the user's spirit being lifted from his dead body.
This is just an interpretation of mine. Alison Goldfrapp would be spinning in her grave if she read this and was dead.
Err, well, yeah... I do hate to think of it as a "drug song", because honestly I don't think it is either. The whole "stabbing" thing gives a sort of air of sharp giddiness, almost. And the song is just quite lovely :D.

I can't think of a song where she explicitly states gender. And when she implies it, it is shaky at best. She implies she is singing about a guy in "Alive" because of a mention of way the subject "turns [their] key", a phallic reference. Not concrete, just suggestive.

this is definitely about drugs for me. it's the takeoff, the set-up and then the dive. it's about how trips start out slow, and then you just fall into it. at first the world just gets slow and smooth, like caramel. and then soon, you're just gone into your own mind, you're no longer of this world.

I don't get the drugs thing. I think if her songs are about getting high, it's high on love, not drugs. "I can't give you up/Like a moth to light." Okay, yes, addiction, to something bad...but a guy, not a drug. Love can be addictive and bad too, especially if you love the wrong person.
Koko is a really popular club in Camden, London. I think on a basic level this song is probably about going there (Goldfrapp have played there in the past...). Maybe watching couples or meeting someone you like, dancing all night etc.
