Blame It On Bad Luck Lyrics

Pound my knuckles hard against the floor. My head against the wall. But I did this to myself. Assume it's just not worth getting back up, but I'll blame it on bad luck. I'll shake responsibility (and say a hard life did this to me). I spent some time in a bad place at 18, wishing I could see something through clear eyes. Do you ever wake up to realize your life is meaningless? Does it give you strength or lead you to your grave at a young age? It seems that when I ran away from my past all my dignity, my faith, my pride got left back. And now I think it's time that I realize self pity's meaningless. Though I'm 10 feet deep, I'll claw my way back out from in my grave. But now I realize I'd give anything I have to walk a day in those old shoes. Wondering what my first smoke would be like, my first fuck, my next fuck up. Or the next band that would change my life and it changed my life.

The chorus of the song is about having a breakdown that was caused by his own actions, but it's easier to for him to blame it on things that were out of his hands and brush it off than to take control of something he caused.

Verse 1 could mean going to rehab, or a mental hospital, or even being homeless and realizing that he's going no where and feeling empty. And at that moment you decide whether your going to change that or just give up.

During the second verse I think he means that when he pretended things from the past didn't happen and he tried to live with denial, it was impossible because he knew the truth and that he needed help and was going to take control of his life because he wasn't going to let his problems kill him.

Verse 3, my personal favorite lyrics of all time, is in my opinion realizing you had it good. Then little by little you grew up and experienced things too fast. And even though it was good at the time you miss that feeling of wonder and specialness. But now it's impossible to feel that because you've felt it all before and it didn't go anywhere good.

how one (guessing one member of the band) had a tought childhood and has tried stupid shit like drugs and how the band he is in now changed his life, how u should not give in to suicede and if you keep going, something will happen good that will save you, in this case, a band.

dont give in to suicide!!!!!!!!!!!! in time i something will happen to change things for the better, even if it doesnt seem like that and i mean that.

hang in there and things will be ok

It's about how it is easy blaming bad luck for all bad thing that happened to you. For a while he used things like drugs, but it didn't help. He realized his life is meaningless and it gave him the strenght to go on, even though it could be otherwise and lead him to his grave. He made something of his life, but still wonders how it would be when he did things different.

how would having a meaningless life give you strength?

This song means the world to me. It's about putting yourself in a bad place. Not having the strengh to go on. Knowing you have noone else to blame but yourself. And knowing your the only one who can help yourself.

This is about finding the band. You know the one. That band that gives you purpose and a reason to move forward. The one that makes you forget things, even for just a little while, and it lets you think. You need to find that band.

Maybe my favorite song on the record.

It's so easy to relate to. He figures that after hard times in his life, it's easier to blame luck and fate than to actually be held accountable for his actions. He wonders if finally realizing that your life is meaningless will drive you to make improvements, or just lead you to dying too early. While running away from his problems was a quick fix, it also left his dignity and everything else behind. Now that he knows it's no good, he's determined to find a way to get himself out of the mess. Now that he's older, he knows that he'd give anything to be in the position he used to be in, before he experienced any of his firsts.

I always thought it was about some guy who went to jail then when he gets out everything has changed.

I thought It a guy who was still in jail, that realized he messed up.
