Tremendous.
ew this song is stinky. and frightening. im not at all impressed with michelle's voice most of the time.
Whatever, emo kid. I mean, you're welcome to your opinion and all, but I think this EP is a huge step in the right direction for SR.
I think the meaning to this song is very clear. It's about expressing your discontentment in the situation you're in, and realizing you need to start moving ahead otherwise you'll always stay stuck in the same place.
Incredibly tremendous...
it all started on a dark and stormy night when i had absolutely nothing to do. so i decided to go buy a cd. i saw the new sr ep and excitely struck me. i couldnt wait to get home and then to the stereo. volume up. ready. play. this was the biggest dissapointmen i have ever felt. this cd is terrible, horrible, disgusting. as big as a sr fan i am i cant stand this one. to sum this all up, i like theyre old cd better and A Slow Decent isnt as good as everyone says it is.
i love the way that this song sounds..... but am i the only one who thinks that it gets repetitive after a while? i cant even listen to the whole thing unless im going to sleep or something. the meaning is pretty much obvious... i think prepare to be wrong is awesome and i dont see why people dont like it as much as their old cd.... everybody keeps saying that but nobody gives their reason why....grrrrrrrrrrr. and emo kid, how can you not be impressed with her voice. its beautiful!!!
The amusing part of reading this page is that I disagree entirely. I think this is quite possibly the most beautiful song SR have developed, and certainly one of the most original. It's a huge leap towards independent sound. How can you not hear the emotion, the beauty, and the sheer truth behind Michelle's voice?
Maybe I'm weird... Hmm... =/
Call me crazy but I have listened to this Straylight Song more than any of the others. This song is just so haunting... I'm not a huge SR fan so maybe I'm just crazy.
I think it just has to do with people's tastes. A lot of people began listening to Straylight Run for John: his voice and his writing. And generally, Straylight Run is a band where the lyrics are a main focal point. Hence, a lyrically sparse song featuring mostly Michelle is disappointing to some. Understandable, but I think this song is really amazing. It's not something I put on every day, but every time I happen to come across it in iTunes on shuffle, I'm always impressed. It's very atmospheric and original sounding. And the door squeaking or whatever it is at the end is very nice.
Anywho, anyone think this could be continuing the main theme on Prepare To Be Wrong? The war, I mean. Sure, this song is vague enough it could be about anything, but it seems to fit that way. And the haunting, simplistic sound may just be to get that message across. Ya know, Use this song as an intro or companion to Later That Year and Big Shot.
It's a little haunting, I'll admit the first time I heard it I was surprised, comparing it to the songs Michelle did on the SR album.
But after two or three listens, I absolutely cannot get enough of it.
