Blessed Lyrics

Хей ти, Скъпо наше дете!
Благодаря на Господ
Че те Има и създаде те!

But I swear you'll be blessed

I know you're still just a dream
your eyes might be green
Or the bluest that I've ever seen
Anyway you'll be blessed

And you, you'll be blessed
You'll have the best
I promise you that
I'll pick a star from the sky

Pull your name from a hat
I promise you that, promise you that, promise you that
You'll be blessed

I need you before I'm too old
To have and to hold
To walk with you and watch you grow
And know that you're blessed

this is my brother's song. He was born almost six months ago. See, my dad married a lady 15 years older than me and she had said to him, 'I want anothor baby' And he had said, 'I don't want to be 60 and changing diapers' So they had a baby now. My little brother Noah is really a second chance for my dad cause he was in the army when I was born and was gone for most of my life. Now, this is his chance to be a father. Everytime I hear this, tears come to my eyes. Not just for my brother being born (I was in the room when he was born) Its just that my dad wanted to say this all to me when I was born but didn't have the chance and now he has that chance to be a father to my little brother. Makes no sense, I know.

This song is about a man (or woman) thinking of the child he would like to have. He promises the child that he or she will be a blessed being in his eyes. Such a beautiful parent to child song. I once spoke with someone who said that he thought this song was about a someone talking about the lover they would like to have. Personally, I don't feel that that idea quite fits.

I had heard Elton in an interview. When he got the lyrics from Bernie Taupin he was very happy for him. Bernie had gotten remarried and came up with this song. Bernie was an older guy (assuming in his 60s) and finally ready to have a child.

When I was pregnant I sung this song every day to my unborn son. It is the sweetest parent-child song I know!

I'm gonna have to give an alternate interpretation here. It's about a true love he wishes he had but hasn't met.

Hey you, you're a child in my head You haven't walked yet Your first words have yet to be said Our relationship is still just something I dream about. In a sense it's like an unborn child that hasn't had had its first steps or said its first words

But I swear you'll be blessed But I'm going to love you more than anything.

I know you're still just a dream your eyes might be green Or the bluest that I've ever seen Anyway you'll be blessed At this point, you're just something I dream about. I don't even know what you look like yet.

The chorus just reinforces that he's gonna love her and give her the best of whatever he can give her

I need you before I'm too old To have and to hold From wedding vows obviously, but he wants to spend lots of time with her, and in order to raise children with her, he needs to be with her while he's still young enough to raise the child.

To walk with you and watch you grow And know that you're blessed He wants to walk by her side and watch her grow old (as he does)

I notice the line about "the bluest that I've ever seen" is very reminiscent of the last verse of "Your Song" ("green or they're blue / the sweetest eyes I've ever seen"). I was thinking of this in terms of an unborn baby . . . but maybe that echo gives more weight to the 'future lover' idea. :)

@DanSensei , If so, then > To walk with you and watch you grow> would likely be <watch us grow>.being a married coupled as opposed to being singular/detached.
