    i'm doing art this year at school and im using it along with another song as inspiration for my major piece. basically how i saw it was that this boy is stuck in a rift where he can't be who he really is inside. he's wearing these concrete boots which stop him from being himself ("make it hard to reach the air"). that's how i see it anyway.

    I recon this song is about somebody having potential. these concrete boots HE wears, makes it hard to reach the air. "hes watered down amongst the crowd" and "painted white to keep the inside out of his sight" seem to show he is unaccepted and got a low self-esteem. He wants to be unique but the fear of being further rejected by society stops him from suceeding

    ive been told this is my theme song. what does that mean exactly? the guy lacks self esteem, everything keeps him down. and while that's the case, he'll never achieve what he is capable of, whatever that be. awesome song by the way, atf are bloody awesome

    after the fall r bloody amazin.. i saw them when they toured wit the darkness, it was my first time hearin n that nite but eva since then i carnt get them out of my head.. i agree wit luke g 100% by the way, he wants to reach out n b different but he feels restraind by sociteys image of "cool"

    I think its about being oppressed by societies constraints of normal and acceptable, it's someone wanting to break out of the mould because he's drowning in the mediocrity of society, but he can't. Maybe he's afraid, maybe he's just being beaten down by the "normal people." whose faces are "painted white, just to keep the inside out of his sight." I think this line symbolises isolation, feeling different from everyone around him. Like normality is a club he's never allowed to join. Amazing song :D

    i dunno. LOVE this song. i always thought it was about depression. the concrete boot and the donwards sinking feeling. you know when your feeling shit and its all grey, its too hard to move, you feel like your weighed down??? mm.. my version says deathly sinkign feeling im listening to it atm.
