Call It Karma Lyrics

Blame it on the weather, but I'm a mess
And this February darkness has me hating everyone
And I know I need your comfort
but this drama makes me sick
And the longer I lay here I know it's
harder to get up without you

Lose another day here
Lose another year here
I'm with you

Find me something out there
that's making sense
And it's just another trend carefully
hidden in your dress
And the cycles neverending
And the fashions overdone
And the further that I run away
the further I'll come back to shelter

Lose another day here
Lose another year here
I'm with you

You are the fire on my apartment floor
Sixteen stories, I'd rather burn then fall
It isn't fate that took us all by storm
It's just the turn of a card

Lose another day here
Lose another year here
I'm with you

You are the fire on my apartment floor
Sixteen stories, I'd rather burn then fall
It isn't fate that took us all by storm
It's just the turn of a card

Goodbye, old friend
Goodbye, goodnight
I'll move on
You'll call it fate, I'll call it karma
We had our time, it was fun
While it lasted

I'll look back, with honor, and no regrets
I won't be mad, won't feel bad
These memories will never leave me
Don't be sad
'Cause life goes on, life goes on
It's getting too late
Tomorrow, is here

This song is obviously about leaving the girl of your deams, but I am thinking that they possibly may have never had a relationship. I am just thinking that the guy loves the girl to death and she is in love with someone else. Maybe seeing them together hurts alot which is why I believe he says I know I need your comfort, but this drama makes me sick, instead of this trouble makes me sick. I also believe that the guy is having mixed emotions of wether he should stay here with the hope of them eventually ending up together, or leaving because he could be waiting for nothing. He knows that he may never have a chance, and that the more time he spends with her, the more his love will grow and leaving will be even harder.

"The longer I lay here I know it's harder to get up without you."

Just My Interpretation Buy yeah I can really relate to this song at the time.

I see it totally different. I see the couple, but i see a tragic break up. It looks more like the girl in the relationship "asked for a break" and was trying to go with other guys on this "break" then decides a couple of days later that she just wants to break up. The guy morns and is sad about it. Then gets angry about everything then decides to just give all hope of a relationship with that girl again. Then the girl comes back and askes for him back and this is pretty much what he tells her.

"you'll call it fate, i'll call it karma"

I would definatly say that this song is about a relationship, however, i think that the guy in the relationship feels safe in the it, "you are the fire on my apartment floor, sixteen stories, i'd rather burn the fall" I would say that he would rather be with "her" rather then be single...just a thought.

I'm not sure if this is right or anything but i think it is about a break up and he is sayin that hes a mess about it but he says it like mabe he dont want to admit it so much that hes hurt ---x0x0--- blame it on the weather, but i'm a mess and this february darkness. has me hating everyone ---x0x0----- goodbye old friend goodbye goodnight i'll move on you'll call it fate, i'll call it karma we had our time, it was fun while it lasted

Like he is sayin that he'll get over it and she'll say that it wasn't ment to be and he'll say it was his bad luck. Then he said he injoyed it while they were together so yeah thats just what i got out of the song sry if you don't agree

I noticed one key detail most the other comments on the song's meaning are missing, which is the title. "Call it Karma" karma originally came from Hinduism. It was your collective good or bad energy from your souls entire existence. If you did good things lived a good life you created good karma and you'd be reborn in a higher "cast" (place in society). The modern world adopts karma as a much more immediate idea; instead of generate karma over lifetimes we do good things hoping for returns in this life. The song is definitely about a guy in a relationship that's ending or just recently ended. The meaning seems mixed by some contradictory statements "It isn't fate that took us all by storm It's just the turn of a card" which makes it seem like it was just bad luck. But it contradicts the overall theme and the name of the song, which is KARMA. Karma isn't luck or fate its in a way JUST DESERTS. Saying its not fate its karma is saying that it ended not because it was suppose to, but because that's what I had coming to me because of my actions. He is blaming himself in a very discrete way, but if you believe like I do that's what he's saying its a bit more depressing than the song seems on the surface.
Post some replies if you read this I'd like to know how my take sounds!

Im going to have to agree with Nepku on this one

Wow how elaborate. Can I just add that this all happened in a 2 year span and that they shared a conversation at the local dinner she had smiley faced pancakes but from where he was sitting all he could see was a frown, and it was fitting to the mood. Jk Nepku’s vision seems fitting to the song. You should write novels.

I'm gonna have to agree with Nepku. I think you hit it dead on. Kinda reminds me of my last relationship....kinda spanned out like you said.
