Distance and space allow emotions to age into faith
Our bodies may end up alone but close
Are you there can you hear me
Are you there can you feel me
Just in the way all your fingertips touch me
They are healing
One day we'll all fall prey
Are you there can you hear me
Are you there can you feel me
Waking up good morning to you my dear
I'm waking up enduring my biggest fears of
Distance away (a weight) distance away
Are you there can you hear me
Are you there can you feel me
Waking up good morning to you my dear
I'm waking up enduring my biggest fear love
Our bodies may end up alone but close
Are you there can you feel me
They are healing
One day we'll all fall prey
Are you there can you feel me
I'm waking up enduring my biggest fears of
Distance away (a weight) distance away
Are you there can you feel me
I'm waking up enduring my biggest fear love

Wow, seriously, the song isn't original because of those 2 lines? If everyone couldn't say "Are you there" or "can you hear me" then nobody would have any music.
OMG, in the 2nd verse I see the word "the", that is plaguerism of Ozzy Osbourne's "Crazy train".
I think it's safe to say that NOBODY has or will write anything CLOSE to that of 10 Years, whether it sounds like gibberish or not.
What's this "actually good" crap? Don't you realize that alot of bands aren't as original as Pink Floyd nowadays? Aren't you sick of the same ol' 3 Days Grace, The Used, Fall out Boy, 30 Secconds to Mars type bands that you can name a thousand of? We need more diversity like 10 Years and A Perfect Circle to keep our minds fresh. No "Sounds like..." for me.
Just my 2 cents
Musicians borrow lines all the time. It's considered a tribute, or inspiration. Sometimes one line can inspire an artist to expand on an idea and write their own work.
waking up the morning after sleeping together, and feeling the distance as a contrast to the closeness of the night before. the fingertips touching reminds him of the closeness of that night. he wonders if they're still close "are you there, can you hear/feel me?" he has to face his fear of love in order to remain close to her.
Love the song. on of the first i encountered and i couldn't bring myself to listen further into the album! just kept on listening to this song over and over again!! LOL.... i'm off to listen to more... :)
haha well everyones already explained it so im just gonna say..it rocks...damn all there music is so good...btw has anyone heard there song 'seven'?? its not on the album but i downloaded it and its great...and its deff. them too..im not that stupid :)...cant find the lyrics anywhere tho..or id add it... :(
I think it could be about someone's spouse/girlfriend/boyfriend who has died and they wake up everyday wishing they were still there with them.
Personally to me this song is about someone finally trusting love, which they had feared for a long time. waking up like this other person has finally opened their eyes to love and now they're optimistic about it.that line i'm waking up enduring my biggest fears definetly says that.and deathcabforcuties seven is off their 2nd album killing all that holds you.amazing song, the whole cd rocks, just like all of their songs.
I agree with jinxxedmaggot. The song is about someone who had learned not to trust love, but is learning to heal old wounds through their relationship with this new person.
this song just rocks
is there anyway that this could be about a long distance relationship?
