I like this song :]. Even though I'm not Christian.
It's about finding love, and caring for someone else.
Though this is supposed to be Christian rock, so the real meaning might be different, but I don't see a way to squeeze in "God" to replace "You" so I'm guessing it's actually directed at another person.

I love this song. I should find a meaning for it (I am a Christian and understand all this stuff) but I listened to this song so many times on a vacation that when I listen to it, all I think of is that trip to Florida. :) But hey, that's what it means to me, a trip to Florida.
I never thought it to be a worship song, even though I'm a Christian.
I think that when they wrote the song, they meant it to be for one of their girlfriends. So when the guy was out on tour, the girl could know that if he could he would 'fight the tides' to come home to her, and she can listen to the song to remind her that he loves her.
Yeah, that's me spelling the song out.
Jesus loves us like this, too, although it probably was written for a girlfriend.
