Mike Mushok Shows the really heavy side of Staind on this song..... he boasted once how the album would include a song with a slipknot-like riff and this song is undoubtedly it..... this song makes me want to headbutt a screwdriver thats how insane this song is...... It is definately about betrayal and the anger that accompanies someone who has something else in mind other than their best intentions when you put your trust in them and they violate it.
best song off the new album. i was reading around a bit and it kinda relates to a story in the bible, dont recall the verses right now tho.
Seems to be a song about someone who is completely dishonest and untrustworthy, and how it all catches up with them. I also heard that it correlates with a Bible verse, a parobole I think.
seems more like a Korn riff than a slipknot riff. pretty cool though, i like the opening riff in Cross to Bear
This is a really good song. One of the best off the album. Yes i agree Mike does show a heavier side of his guitar work in this song and its awesome. I think the song is about how some people just tell lies and how it affects the others around them, including their families and friends.
I think this song has a hidden meaning/agenda they are trying to get out in this song.
I mean, most of the meaning is correct, but I actually read on a website (can't remember what) saying that this was about Fred Durst of Limp Bizkit. And when you actually look at the lyrics, it kind of makes sense.

This new album Chapter V has a lot of influences, and Korn is a big one for this song. Anti-christian messages, hard guitar.

i was at a concert when Aaron said what it was about. he said it was about the contractor building his new house who totally fucked up the house.
i always thought it was some thing along the lines of an old manager or tour manger or some one who has fucked them over big time by like cancling shows and taking the money for it or some it like that but the building thing sounds more true to the song!
I thought it was basically comparable to the song For you. Typical teenager - parent beefs. but overall yep seems like its about deceptionist.
