Justify Lyrics

Once there was a time when we could learn
All the simple pleasantries a follower should yearn
Now all that I can do is watch them burn
And wish that I could save them all, or just one

See the fake
Everyday shaking hands of men, promising the end
Hear him speak
Of all the things that we need to hear, to adhere

Justify, your secrecies that surmise your cries
I see the way you look around the bend
Is it going to end, when?

The visions that I've seen have left me torn
Between the resurrection and the prophecy unborn
I think that I will document the fall
And say I hate to say it
But I told you all

See the fake
Everyday shaking hands of men, promising the end
Hear him speak
Of all the things that we need to hear, to adhere

Justify, your secrecies that surmise your cries
I see the way you look around the bend
Is it going to end, when?
(repeat)

Your side, choose wise
Your side

Whats the change in tone
When you whisper?
Whos to blame
Is my message clearer?

Justify, your secrecies that surmise your cries
I see the way you look around the bend
Is it going to end, when?

End to end
When you change your mind is it going to end?

This is about how people always fake the way they act and talk and live their lives as lies and He's not doing anything about them

well its true that some of the guys in the band are christian.....well...in this song it begins talking about how people used to be open to God and eager to learn....but now so many people are not open to it...so he has to "watch them burn"....but he wishes he "could save them all, or just one"....then there are fake christians and fake people out there just saying the end is coming....but we just need to "hear Him speak and of all the things we need to hear, to adhere"....then it talks about how if we keep secrets then we need to justify them and make them right....and he sees how people live their lives....and wishes they would change their ways....then he says that he thinks about the resurrection and the prophecy and he knows its true...which is why he's sad to tell the people that have not yet changed, that it is right...then he says to choose your side wisely...

I think that this song could be about people who have fallen away from god's grace, but I have a different view entirely. I think that this song could be about the president and war. "See the fake, everyday shaking hands of men, promising the end. Hear him speak of all the things that we need to hear, to adhere." Saying that he's saying the war is a good thing and it's going to end but really he's just saying what people want to hear even if it's not the truth. The whole "between the resurrection and the prophecy unborn" thing does make it sound pretty religious but the ressurection could be the resurrection of a nation and the prophecy unborn could be about how the war was seen as a good thing but we haven't seen the good side of it yet. Well, that's just what I got out of it.

i think that the line

Between the resurrection and the prophecy unborn is about possibly being torn between the christian and jewish faith(ressurection christ) (prohpecty unborn the mesiah) i'm not sure about the rest of the song but i'm pretty sure on these lines but either way if i'm right or not this song definately is about religion and asking when the world will end

I think this song is singing about concentration camps and like he's the soldier but doesnt want to be it makes alota sense like 'Once there was a time when we could learn All the simple pleasantries a follower should yearn Now all that I can do is watch them burn And wish that I could save them all, or just one' like he sees the people burning at stake and he wants to help them but he knows he cant or 'I see the way you look around the bend Is it going to end, when?' meaning a person is looking around the bend all hungry and stuff wondering when this will end...The visions that I've seen have left me torn....like he sees people dying and he feels really bad....Your side, choose wise Your side....its asking u what side u want to be...the suffering people or the soldiers who dont really want to be there....I dunno seems about right to me

I see how people could think that this song is about the president and the war because thats what I thought when I first listened to it but the more I think about it it's sounds more about religion...It's an awesome song anyway. Take what you want out of it.
