I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

you all see this song as a very negative one , but its actually a very positive song. its about getting out of an depression. its like a V shape. its pretty hard to describe in english but ill try.
you should see depression as a V shape. a person slowly goes down the V meaning he feels worse and worse. than he hits rock bottom, the bottom of the V. after that he goes op de V again, meaning he feels better and better. this song is about that point after rock bottom the first point of getting out of the depression.
i hope you understand what i mean. just look at the title hours of wealth, by that alone you can see that this is supossed to be a positive song
