Running Thoughts Lyrics
They were called The Runners Four.
Always slipping through the back door
When they come ashore
Sneaking through their precious load,
Cheating customs in a speedboat.
When they come in from far away
Oh they never can stay.
They fly away to other skies
With the sun in their eyes.
Make their entrance two by two
Bringing us a thought that's so new
Whistling secret tunes
And smuggling through their precious smile
Breaking customs for a short while
Always slipping through the back door
When they come ashore
Cheating customs in a speedboat.
Oh they never can stay.
They fly away to other skies
With the sun in their eyes.
Bringing us a thought that's so new
Whistling secret tunes
Breaking customs for a short while

that's right icicles.!deep down there's pretty pop in their heart.tune lyrics vocals, everything points out to that.
i haven't heard much old deerhoof, but they do indeed have a ton of pop sensibility. their hooks are so subtle you can barely deem them hooks, but they do rub my ears the right way.
OK, so Deerhoof = :)

Weird freedom smugglers from another world - couldn't they be Deerhoof themselves? Or the leprechauns visiting their minds to inspire them songs...
