Seek You Out Lyrics
Never said you'd promise anything
Never told to trust you blindly
Never thought you'd hurt me either
Never had a chance now ain't that so
Never should've wept when you let go
Never thought you'd push me away
Sad as it may be
I'm glad it's over finally
Speaks volumes of me
When letting go is never easy
So I'll seek you out, just to find myself
And I'll worry 'bout consequences later
I hear you out, till I hear myself
Hear myself in you
Never knew if we were really true
Never thought I'd ever get to you
Never thought I'd end up like this
Never was I stronger than I'm now
Never felt this much a fool somehow
Never had much thought for myself
Never told to trust you blindly
Never thought you'd hurt me either
Never should've wept when you let go
Never thought you'd push me away
I'm glad it's over finally
Speaks volumes of me
When letting go is never easy
And I'll worry 'bout consequences later
I hear you out, till I hear myself
Hear myself in you
Never thought I'd ever get to you
Never thought I'd end up like this
Never felt this much a fool somehow
Never had much thought for myself

Well, this song is obviously about a recently ended relationship. "Sad as it may be I'm glad it's over finally."
Contrast the beginning of the relationship - "Never said you'd promise anything. Never told to trust you blindly. Never thought you'd push me away." with the end of the relationship - "Never was I stronger than I'm now. Never felt this much a fool somehow. Never had much thought for myself."
I suppose that if there were one thing we could take away from the composers experience it would be that if both parties do not agree from the beginning on what type of relationship they want, one of them will end up saying "Never should've wept when you let go. Never thought you'd push me away."
The line "never had much thought for myself" can be an indication of the narrator's low self-esteem. He's not stupid but doesn't think enough of himself to avoid toxic relationships.

This is about a relationship that is doomed from the start.
But he took the chance to go into that relationship, cause there maybe was a minor chance that is WOULD work out. He took his chance and would worry about the consequences later. (it's better to regret something you've done, than regret something you didn't. )
He realizes now that he never had a chance to make this relationship working. So now it's time to let go, because they want different things out of this relationship. Obviously that's not working.
Well, it hurts like hell, but he's trying to be strong and says he's better of without her in the long run.
What can I say... story of my life at the moment....
