Medicated Nation Lyrics

Slithering slow and serpentine coiled around your spine
My willing victim so sublime, one taste and you are mine

Did you remember to feed me while I was broken and bleeding?

Preaching words obsidian on the wings of shattered man
The sightless wait oblivious to the scourge that stains their hands
All you feel and all you do, the medication controls you

Did you remember to feed me while I was broken and bleeding?

Now slap your vein
I’m the power of pain and pleasure symbiotic, I am, I am
In a medicated nation of blind neurotics, I am, I am
Psychotic pain baptized in pure narcotics, I am, I am

Did you remember to feed me while I was broken and bleeding?

Trapped in dark seductive miracles, deified addictive rituals
All you feel and all you do, the medication controls you

Did you remember to feed me while I was broken and bleeding?

Now slap your vein
I’m the power of pain and pleasure symbiotic, I am, I am
In a medicated nation of blind neurotics, I am, I am
Psychotic pain baptized in pure narcotics, I am, I am

All you feel and all you do, the medication controls you

pretty straight forward: US is over medicated with narcotic drugs to numb their 'pain' and their pain is made up. people then need the drug.

I think it's more than just literal drugs. I think what he means to say is that most people in this country are overcome with anxieties, fears, insecurities, etc. and as a way of coping with those fears, or overcoming them; we rely on things like religion or social traditions to help us deal with them as crutch. And we become dependent on these traditions or religion to feel safe.We become so dependent on these "deified addictive rituals" that we become, well, addicted! And we can't feel safe or comfortable thinking or feeling in a way that doesn't fit in to these "rituals"

It's about Heroin.

"One taste and you are mine" -Heroin is extremely addictive

It's also about how, as KrudeDuse said, Narcotic drugs are used to numb the so called "Pain" where there really is none.

Yeah, it's about literal, prescription drugs. This song just takes a piss all over the pharmaceutical industry.

It almost sounds like he's talking about the chemicals our government introduced into our foods and water many years ago. Look up Aspartame and Fluoride, both very dangerous chemicals found in everyday foods that will eventually reduce the global population by sterility and cognitive decay... Or plain old drugs maybe. They are both forms of medication.
