No Hardcore Dancing in the Living Room Lyrics

I've resolved upon this course, which has no need of you
Denying this day, didn't stop it from coming
Promise me, that you won't be consumed when you realize
We're screaming at the same moon

Shredded by state lines
Press my face up against the glass
With both eyelids shut and baby, this won't get any easier
Baby, this won't get any easier
Baby, this won't get any easier

Don't let this die, we may never fall in love again
It's hard but worth the wait when it's over
Don't let this die, we may never fall in love again
It's hard but worth the wait when it's over

Now open up wide, fist first down your throat
Where no beauty lies, and rip out what should've been mine

Comfort always made the rescue, we always hoped 'for the best'
I'll burn this with torches, and drown in my consideration
I'll burn this with torches, and drown in my consideration

personally here is where i am at with this.

I've resolved upon this course, which has no need of you :: he is trying to convince himself that there is no need for her, but he knows he is lying to himself.

Denying this day, didn't stop it from coming :: and although he believed they wouldnt have to move away from eachother they do.

Promise me, that you won't be consumed when you realize We're screaming at the same moon :: here i think he is trying to state how miserable it is to realize that they are so far away from eachother, yet looking at the same thing...

Shredded by state lines :: ohkay obviously they are in different states, there really isnt another way to take that.

Press my face up against the glass With both eyelids shut and baby, this won't get any easier Baby, this won't get any easier Baby, this won't get any easier :: to me this whole part is just saying that long distance relationships suck and that its gunna be hard and he just wants her to realize it now... in the begining.

Don't let this die, we may never fall in love again It's hard but worth the wait when it's over Don't let this die, we may never fall in love again It's hard but worth the wait when it's over :: he is trying to convince her that it will all be worth it...in the end. when they can finally be together.

Now open up wide, fist first down your throat Where no beauty lies, and rip out what should've been mine :: she cheated, pretty much. sum it up, he wants to rip out her heart, it shouldve belonged to him and she pretty much screwed him over in the whole deal.

Comfort always made the rescue, we always hoped 'for the best' :: comforted by the thought that it would work out that everything would be perfect in the end, soothed the pain of the distance.

I'll burn this with torches, and drown in my consideration I'll burn this with torches, and drown in my consideration :: hes done with her and what she did, but he is still hurt by the fact that he has respect for her while she made a fool of him.

Seems to me that it's about a long distance relationship ("Shredded by state lines") gone bad. The two are in love, but the distance proves too difficult for them. The singer sees it coming ("Denying this day, didn't stop it from coming") and, perhaps in an effort to save the relationship, heads out to visit his love interest.

When he finally has to return home ("Press my face up against the glass", like the window of a car maybe), he realizes that as great as the visit may have been, the relationship is going to keep going downhill ("this won't get any easier").

Maybe at this point, the love interest has come to the same realization. The singer tries to keep the relationship from collapsing because he remembers how great it once was to finally love someone and be loved ("Don't let this die, we may never fall in love again") and tries to convince the other person to ride out the hard times ("It's hard but worth the wait when it's over").

It could go two ways after that... Either they break up or stay together. I think that they broke up, personally. In either case, I think that the person that the song is being sung to/about ends up seeing someone else or cheating on the singer, who is understandably upset/hurt/angry ("Now open up wide, fist first down your throat / Where no beauty lies, and rip out what should've been mine").

I'm not sure about the last bit... Maybe he burns the letters or things that were exchanged and drinks to try and make himself feel better ("I'll burn this with torches, and drown in my consideration")?

Yes a very good interpretation, It's definitely about a long distance relationship, the only thing I have to add is when he says "Now open up wide, fist first down your throat Where no beauty lies, and rip out what should've been mine." Doesnt mean she started cheating on him, but maybe just broke it off? All he's saying with that line is he's reaching down her thought(figuratively of course.) to take back what should have been his (In this case, her heart.)

"Don't let this die, we may never fall in love again It's hard but worth the wait when it's over Don't let this die, we may never fall in love again It's hard but worth the wait when it's over"

Basically saying not to let their love die, it's gonna be hard, but worth the wait when all this mess is over. It's pretty straightforward there.

"Now open up wide, fist first down your throat Where no beauty lies, and rip out what should've been mine" At this point, something happened, and their love did die, now he is upset and saying that she is an ugly person on the inside ("fist first down your throat where no beauty lies") and get her heart/love, that should of been his ("and rip out what should of been mine")
