Here Comes Mary Lyrics
Here comes Mary
All dressed in black
Her heart so heavy
A love attack
Her dying cigarette in the rain
The gangs are out
And here comes Mary
They rave and shout
Her love to bury
Her dying cigarette in the rain
Go home and cry to your mama tonight
Go home and bury your love tonight
Young love dead
Lost forever
Young love dead
Lost forever
A dying cigarette in the rain
A shiny gun
To her head
Here comes Mary
Forever dead
A wet cigarette in the rain
Went home and cried to her mama tonight
Went home and buried her love tonight
Went home and cried to her mama tonight
Went out and killed herself tonight
All dressed in black
Her heart so heavy
A love attack
Her dying cigarette in the rain
And here comes Mary
They rave and shout
Her love to bury
Her dying cigarette in the rain
Go home and bury your love tonight
Lost forever
Young love dead
Lost forever
A dying cigarette in the rain
To her head
Here comes Mary
Forever dead
A wet cigarette in the rain
Went home and buried her love tonight
Went home and cried to her mama tonight
Went out and killed herself tonight

i'm not so good with symbolism and what not but this song seems to be pretty upfront. i really don't understand the gang part so if someone else could leave a comment on this song it would be real nice to know your opinion. thanks.
obviously about a girl involved with the 'wrong' kind of boys... i think about a scenario not too different from "west side story"... she pays for it with her life.
This reminds me of trashy 50's pulp novels. It's one of those kind of stories and the music reflects that I think. My favorite on this album.

Out of all of the Ravonettes songs I have (and I'm pretty sure I have every album/EP they've come out with), I think this is their best song. Ever.
It's so cinematic and dark, yet the harmonies are so sweet. It does remind me a lot of West Side Story, maybe Mary is a reference to "Maria."
