I'm Ready Lyrics
"And today was a day just like any other"
I'm on the verge, I'm on the verge
Unravelling with every word.
With every word you say, make me believe
That I won't feel your tires on the street
As I'm finding the words..
You're getting away...
I come undone, oh yes, I do
Just think of all the thoughts wasted on you
And every word you say, say something sweet
'Cause all I taste is blood between my teeth
As I'm finding the words..
You're getting away...
Well, I'm ready... I'm ready to drop
Oh, oh, oh, oh
I'm ready... I'm ready so don't stop
I'm ready, so don't stop
Keep pushing (don't stop me, I'm ready)
I'm ready to fall (don't stop me, I'm ready)
I'm ready (don't stop me, I'm ready)
I'm ready so don't call
I'm ready so don't call
I am aware I've been misled
I disconnect my heart, my head
Don't wanna recognize when things go bad
The things that you'll accept
Except that I am...
I'm finding the words to say I'm...
Ready, I'm ready to drop
Oh, oh, oh, oh
I'm ready... I'm ready so don't stop
I'm ready so don't stop.
I wake up to find it's another 4 aspirin morning and I dive in.
I put on the same clothes I wore yesterday.
When did society decide that we have to change
Or wash a T-shirt after every individual use?
If it's not dirty, I'm gonna wear it.
I take the stairs to the car and there's fog on the windows
(And I'm finding the words)
I need caffeine in my bloodstream
I take caffeine in the bloodstream
I grip the wheel and all at once I realize...
(And you're getting away)
My life has become a boring pop song and everyone's singing along
Well, I'm ready to drop...
Well, I'm ready, I'm ready so don't stop
Oh Oh Oh Oh
Well keep pushing, I'm ready to fall
Well I'm ready (don't stop me, I'm ready)
I'm ready so don't call (don't stop me, I'm ready)
Don't stop, I've already let go.
Don't stop me, I'm ready
Don't stop me, I've already let go...

this is such an amazing song. i love the talking part. so good.
"I put on the same clothes I wore yesterday. When did society decide that we have to change Or wash a T-shirt after every individual use? If it's not dirty, I'm gonna wear it."
such a great part of the song. i totally agree with these lines and i think that people should worry less about outside appearences and more about what's in their hearts and minds
yes i totally agree with that. i listen to that part all the time. everyone worries about their looks and dont focus on who they are.

I completely agree with all of the ideas about this song being about ending a relationship. But for me, personally, i think it could also be about the start of a relationship, from a friendship. Or rather the narrator finally deciding that it is time to tell his close friend that he loves them, and wants to be with them.
"Well, I'm ready to drop... Well, I'm ready, I'm ready so don't stop Well keep pushing, I'm ready to fall"
For me, this particular section of the song says that the narrator's friend has already made it clear that they love him, and even though deep down he loves the person back, he has never been able to admit it or has previously been confused about how he feels. But now, he is "ready" to tell them.
"As I'm finding the words.. You're getting away..."
I think this lyric shows that the narrator is aware that his friend won't wait around for him forever, whilst he is "finding the words" to tell them how he feels.
I think that the part of the song where the singer is talking shows that he is sick and tired of being in the same routine, and feels empty. This is because he is supressing feelings towards his friend. The line "my life has become a boring pop song and everyone's singing along" could suggest that all of his other friends believe he is in love with this person, and the only person who can't see this clearly is him - and all of his friends are "singing along" to his life. I think this lyric symbolises a turning point in his life, where he finally works out how he feels, and decides to tell his friend.
why is no one commenting on this song?! this is one of my favs on the new album! AH andrew is amazing.
to me this song means that despite all this hell he has gone through in the past, he is leaving it all behind and allowing himself to succumb to change, whether it be a person, or any new experience.
yeah I can really relate to it.
Its a very the end of a relationship song, it seems that he feels he's "putting up with" instead of enjoiing as you should a relationship.....And he's finally reached the end of his teather, and now he's "Ready" to make that change.
The spoken bit, gives it all a way, saying you know, why do we have to live with such trivialities as changing clothes everyday...Whats the point? Just get on with life....
Its another four asprin morning.....- just says how he is accepting life as another day, he's just gonna be himself, and Accept the world and get on with it.......
I agree especially how he says i disconnect my heart my head quite possibly meaning that he has given up and is just trying to get through it

WOW. I didn't really care for this song until I actually listened to the lyrics. And then I got to the part where he's talking about the t-shirt, and that is just, like.. so awesome.
To me, this song is about a guy who's ready to drop the relationship. Everything's become, like, boring and ordinary to him (same t-shirt, boring pop song) and he's kind of like, "I don't care anymore, just let me go."
yeh it seems to me like a bit of a break up song. a chick breaking up with him, and even tho she is saying she wont hurt him, she does and he can feel the pain.
i think the chorus symbolises him being ready to give up on her. like he says he is ready to drop/fall' and cos she is pushing him, she also wants him give up on her. its like the scenario is her trying to break up with him, and he is saying he is ready to give up on her and he doesnt want her to try to sugarcoat it or be nice anymore, ie dont call. he wants her to keep pushing him to the edge so it'll be easier to jump off --> she keeps hurting him but that makes it easier for him to turn her back on her.
(i think its a sad song, i dont think it about making a change for the better). i think its jsut about realising people sometimes dissapoint you or hurt you, and that when that happens sometimes the best thing to do is to leave those ppl behind, even if it means giving up on something that was once good.
i think that the opening line 'and today was a day like any other' might have some symbolic meaning in the story of the album, but im not sure what it is.
plus the monolog after the second chorus... im not sure if that has much to do with the breaking up or ifs its just a realisation he comes to once he has given up on this girl, maybe the next morning even - it feels like an afterthought to me tho. i think it means that once he gave up on this thing that used to be good, his perspective alters and he sees how things like pop-music and image just dont matter as much. its almost like letting go of her allowed him to let go of other worries in his life. tho the adjustment is painful (he needs caffies and asprin) the realisation is clear and worthwhile.
haha i didnt mean to go on that much. i really like this song, and i believe that your whole perspective can cahnge with just one day or one event.
i love this song!.....yet i cant exaclty understand everything he says in his monologue....does anyone wanna post it...please?
nevermind.......
i realize that when i scrolled down, i scrolled too fast and missed like the last bit of the lyrics....
Kick Ass Song
