Open Invitation Lyrics
All along
I've been waiting on
The open invitation
You're silent
Show me no relation
In the rising calm
Don't you feel alone
I'll be standing with your sorrow
All you left me
Is gone away tomorrow
And we may never be here again
And we may never be here again
Pull me up on either side
Don't leave me standing alone in the light
Pull me up on either side
Don't leave me standing alone in the light
All along
I've been waiting on
The open invitation
You're silent
Show me no relation
In the rising calm
Don't you feel alone
I'll be standing with your sorrow
All you left me
Is gone away tomorrow
And we may never be here again
And we may never be here again
I've been waiting on
The open invitation
You're silent
Show me no relation
Don't you feel alone
I'll be standing with your sorrow
All you left me
Is gone away tomorrow
And we may never be here again
And we may never be here again
Don't leave me standing alone in the light
Pull me up on either side
Don't leave me standing alone in the light
I've been waiting on
The open invitation
You're silent
Show me no relation
Don't you feel alone
I'll be standing with your sorrow
All you left me
Is gone away tomorrow
And we may never be here again
And we may never be here again

marvelous!
absolutely amazing song, i love the way it builds up. wow.
I think it is:
"On and on I've been waiting on the open invitation"
Not "all along". Just FYI.
@SouthernBelle I agree

This song is a plea to Nick Dago to get off the drugs and come back to the band. He did, and actually contributed a drum track to Howl, but everthing else was done by the bassist and guitarist.
I absolutely looove this song. I first heard in the OC in season 3 while Marissa is struggling. Ever since I first heard, I've loved it.
This song is actually titled Outtro and is listed as such on their LIVE in London album.
I've always felt there's an element to this song about dying and the open invitation to whatever comes after. I find his expression of the anticipation of this event beautiful and haunting.
