Libby I'm Listening Lyrics
With a kiss and a cigarette
You're better than any midnight sex
I can't stop cause it feels too good
I won't stop but I know I should
Believe me I'm not always on a serious side.
Cause I can make you laugh, if he makes you scream
If he breaks you, tell me everything
Cause here we are alone again
Libby I'm listening
Cause I can make you laugh, if he makes you scream
If he breaks you, tell me everything
Cause here we are alone again
Libby I'm listening
When they're your prayers
Your love, your fucking grace
Closed eyes sleeping face to face
Sweet girl with such a tender taste
Libby Un..Libby unwind.
Libby I'm.. Libby I'm.. Libby I'm listening to you.
Libby Un..Libby Unwind.
This song is simply about being the "friend" to a girl who is with someone else. Someone who isn't particularly good for the girl. I think at one point in life every guy has been in this situation.
first, my english is weak, so sorry for that..
i agree with the above comments, especially with "gunmetalblue5591", but i also think, that he is sexual attracted to libby and hates himself for that, because he can not REALLY listen.. he abuses her with his ignorance & when it comes to the "Please!"-thing, i always thought, that he can not control himself any longer (or hardly)..he likes this girl very much (her soul) and wants to help her..so that this line explain a kind of self-discipline (a cry out for that). Or he wishes that he can be warm to her..and calm..without any "other thoughts"
amazing song, one of my favorites
@angersagift totally agree
@angersagift totally agree
I agree with you rburn17 but I also think he wants to be with libby(the guy in the song not justin)so hes being a good friend while also showing her hes better for her than the other guy is
DISCLAIMER I have just obtained a copy of Justin Furstenfeld's book Crazy Making. It's not very detailed, but it contains all the lyrics to all current (The Answers - Approaching Normal) Blue October songs, and his inspiration behind them. As I said, it's not very detailed, but it's his words on every Blue October song that is in the book. I know everyone interprets a song differently from everyone else, but having the original intent behind the song will be helpful to people who don't fully understand a song. Also, any grammatical errors are not made by me, I'm putting down Justin's words exactly how he writes them. So yea... enjoy :)
Libby I'm Listening: "So, so cool.... taught me how to listen but never even thought about being her boy. Seemed like a waste of a cool friend. If it ended ya know"
